CricSim Herald Bannerman Shield Player of the Season Award

Season 9 has nearly had it all for DA Eggman.

Despite missing selection for the CricSim Test side at the beginning of the season, the Victorian never let that deter him. In just his third season in the top grade, Eggman has been the backbone to the Vipers as they charged to the minor premiership.

Opposition batsmen have never appeared comfortable at the crease while ever the ball was in his hands. Impressively, the lanky quick has taken 87 wickets this season at just 20.51 making him the second highest wicket take for the season. His best figures were a brilliant 8/92, making him one of just three bowlers to have taken eight in an innings, while he also took eight five wicket innings – a feat only equalled by the great SB Wilson.

Eggman has also been a star for his state, taking 15 wickets at just over 17 in Victoria’s two clashes with Great Britain.

Possibly the greatest testament to Eggman is how he has stood out in a team that contains two other fantastic quicks in BA Storer and BOY Blunder.

While many within the game are watching with interest to see how the Viper bounce back in the Grand Final after their shock final round defeat at the hands of the Gamblers, one thing can be assured – DA Eggman will be ready and raring to go.
