    So I simulated a season and despite having Gerard Delofeu, Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry on loan, Everton only managed a lowly 15th despite finishing regularly within the top 7 during David Moyes' reign.

    Essentially gives you more time in the job - the 'higher' your past experience, the more leeway the board give you.

    Ha. Righto. Makes sense. I usually go with the lowest, but I usually start off non-league anyway so I guess the lack of experience wouldn't be anywhere near as important at that level.

    Influences the type of players you can attract to the club, board are more patient with results and I also think it impacts team talks.

    Could be other things, but that's the jist of it really.

    Ahhhhhh. That could be quite important then, and may explain my inability to attract none but the most inept of non-league journeymen to my new club. Sigh.
