Haha nah was just chopping and changing my wording of the sentence. I actually forgot about Watmough too, he'd probably be in front of Woods to play lock and shift Gallen up front.
I really don't see Woods getting picked after not playing in this game. Hoffman and Merrin guaranteed themselves spots. With Gallen, Bird, Lewis, Watmough and Tamou all assured spots, that leaves one remaining. I think it'll be Mannah or Grant.
Disgusting that Hoffman is almost a certainty to get picked. He's way too loose with errors and his performances this season have been rank average IMO
Yeah pretty sure, I was watching the a league and only looked over every now and again and it looked pretty half arsed.

Yeah they mentioned it in the commentary of the match iirc. That would be such a backwards step. Sure lets move our in form backrower who turns up for rep games to 6 where he isn't as effective and hasn't played consistently in multiple seasons. I'm a huge Bird fan as we all know, but he's not a 6 anymore, 3-5 seasons ago maybe not now though.
In fact whilst on the subject - Cribbs post promoting Sironen to the backrow I completely agree with. Much the same as Bird, I would assume selctors/coaches see good ball runner with above average ball skills = next great fittler/lewis style 6 but I don't see it myself.
tbh I don't think Bird was ever really a five-eight. He looks retarded when he goes to kick and his handling errors go through the roof when he moves into the halves. I think he just looked more like a five-eight in the past because rugby league went through that awful period when every team seemed to play a lock or centre in the halves. I agree 100% with the rest though.
You can say that Bird was never really a 6 but the cunt deservedly was man of thematch there a few seasons back.
