    Glenn Stewart was very under-rated on this forum as a club footballer before last year. He was genuinely bloody good.

    He straight up looked like a reserve grader last year though. He really struggled with the pace of the game; looked lost out there as he just couldn't keep up physically or even mentally with how Manly's attacking structure was unfolding in general.

    I always thought he might be found out a bit once opposition coaches started instructing their edge defenders to not treat him as a running threat and instead try to pick off the blokes running off him, but last year was a whole other thing. He was absolutely gash, and unless he significantly improves on that effort this year and beyond he would be a terrible signing for any team unless they paid him so little that he didn't fall in their highest paid 13 bracket.

    I don't know if he was "bloody good." Never rated him defensively and I don't think he'd be half as good as he's made out to be without Lyon and his brother outside him.

    But yeah, he was rubbish last year, not that anyone really seems to have noticed. Then again he wasn't nominated for lock of the year for a change.

    I've always rated Glenn Stewart very highly as he's a footballer rather than an athlete. Last year was a massive decline though. This year will show whether it was caused through injury/ form or whether it was age starting to take affect.

    Will be interesting to see if it gets through.

    Everyone who isn't an obvious Raiders' fan is sworn enemy though, it's ridiculous. Mobs of fans just can't discuss things objectively at all.

    Yeah that's why I don't frequent club forums. Just occasionally go in to stir people up. It's laughable though that being against such a stupid purchase is considered controversial.

    Yeah even in his prime he wasn't as good as Papalii is now, and he's a long, long way from being the player he was in his prime.

    I think Sticky may be trying to go with a more defensive mindset in making the decision but then again I wouldn't be surprised if Campese doesn't even play Round 1 and they both start.

    I reckon it'd be worth the risk for 2014 given their lack of 2nd rowers but they could do so much better if they were thinking about 2015 & beyond.

    I'd be surprised if Manly were considering releasing him though.

    my thoughts 100% magic.

    if we get him this year I'd be happy if we can't I wouldn't even offer him any contract for next year? I'd rather buhrer and that's just off contract players from manly.
