    Tim McIntosh was a largely rubbish New Zealand opening batsman, who looked absolutely horrible at the crease - it seemed like he never had any hope of hitting the ball off the square and he'd play and miss, get hit on the pads etc repeatedly. If he managed to not be not be dismissed in the first couple of overs he usually hang around for a while looking fucking awful and striking at about 25. But every so often during one of those absolutely torturous innings of 30 odd, he'd play an absolutely glorious cover drive for four with perfect footwork that would take everyone by surprise, before reverting back to his technique of prods with absolutely no footwork at all. It was so weird.

    Jeremy Smith, the half, was the NRL's Tim McIntosh. Those three plays against Canberra were his cover drives.

    :laugh: No wonder I didn't remember that game. :p

    That's what he was like though. He was so, so rubbish in so many ways - and not just in the though Ben Rogers dreadfully inconsistent and stupid way, he was genuinely shit - and then every so often he'd do something really classy out of nowhere.

    I swear I have memories of him winning a game against Canberra though. I have it mixed up with Cronulla beating Canberra at Bruce one time about 3 years ago though. What shit halfbacks played for Cronulla when Kimmorley left?

    For my 16th birthday I went to watch Penrith for the first time. Was at Penrith Park against the knights, who had lost 11 in a row or something, panthers coming off beating the storm.

    Panthers were up by about 20 at half time. Clint Newton went on to run 2 or 3 past Campbell and beat Panthers late for Knights first win of the season.

    Same season (or maybe the next) I watched Penrith v Manly, seem to remember Penrith up by 16+ with 17 minutes to go and going down by 10ish. Did something very similar the following year.

    Pretty sure Panthers blew a 18+ half time lead against Canberra at Bruce in 2010 that I was at as well, only wore thongs and it got down to 1 degree or something fucked up.
