    Thaiday had 13 on his back this arvo, yet was at right 2nd row whenever he was on the field.

    Parker was all over the place. Even was the left side 2nd row in some periods.

    It's a long season. We got flogged by 50 by Melbourne and then belted by the Cowboys in Rd1, in 2006. This shit isn't always indicative of how good or bad a side really is.

    The quality is there. It's just putting it together. The main concern is Griffin deciding on the make-up of the side.

    Experimentation. It's to be expected. We simply need a stop gap at 6 and a more traditional style of play. Split halves isn't what we should be looking for. Sweeping backline movements giving Barba, Hodges, Gillett and Reed more time, with deeper runs is the go.

    We also really need McCullough to stand up this year.

    I think Hunt is the vital player in the squad but he does need good service from dummy half to provide him space to spread the ball out. His fifth play options trying to chase the scoreline in the second half was cringe worthy. If both him and McCullough stand up this year I think the rest of the squad should fall in place.

    Yeah. We need to be a bit patient with Hunt. He showed some very good signs at the back end of the year but it's a whole other ball game knowing you're now the first string halfback. For better or worse, he needs to be persisted with. I never rated him when he first came into FG and I still have a lot of doubts about his ability, but the kid has talent. Like any half, he needs his big men to go-forward and the rest will follow.

    The good thing is that McCullough has looked very sharp in attack for quite some time now. As you said, his service needs to be spot on.

    I won't pretend to have foreseen this dilemma in it's current state, but it's somewhat along the lines of what I thought might happen if we bought Prince and he didn't hang around. It's retarded Hunt a good 6-12 months.

    I think Hunt has been jerked around by Griffin for too long before becoming a regular half. He's 24 this year, and spent most of his career playing 20 minutes at hooker off the bench when he should have been playing in the halves in QLD Cup. It might be too late now.

    Still, I think our attack will definitely improve, as long as Barba stays fit. Oates and hopefully Hodges will come into the side before halfway through the season too. Take Maranta out of the side, and that's like an extra try a game on that right edge on average too.

    It's the defence I'm worried about, it's the same shit as last year. I dunno how Kearney still has a job.
