Remember watching Clayton Friend and Mark Graham sharing a cigarette in the tunnel before the 1988 World Cup final.
Freeman was probably the better player. But Friend was more capable of accepting 7 or 8 rabbit punches to the face during every tackle and still turning up looking for more work. Nuggety little rooster. Somehow you just knew he came from an abusive household and was used to being slapped around. Born for league especially the 1980s version of league which was a lot rougher than this version.
I have mentioned Olsen a number of times on this forum as a past legend of the game but didn't get much of a reaction.
Lol. Friend was awesome from the back of scrums and at putting players into gaps. He was a terrific little player . Didn't get the same entertainment from Freeman.
Another personal favourite was Brendan Tuuta..."the baby-faced assassin". Used to give the Aussies a facial in every tackle.
Don't rate SKD but he was fairly solid tonight, him and Nightingale running side by side is lols though.
lol I'd love if Woods wasn't picked for origin but he made the most metres of any Aussie prop if you're excluding Parker.
