Selection is the biggest problem. The teams that continue to be picked for Australia are most of the time disgraceful.
Eat a dick. Sore loser. Look at the scoreboard and the stats. Vatuvei made the most line breaks and scored the most tries. And he broke 7 tackles and carried for 145 metres. Not to mention a try saving tackle where he showed Herculean strength. Had a whale of a game on defence and attack. Idiot.
Anyway - in summary - totally surprised by this victory. For the Australians I thought Cam Smith had a good game although took some wrong options at times. I thought Thurston lacked a touch of pace compared to past years when I have watched him. Inglis looked as though he didn't really care about the match which probably summarised the whole Australian outfit. The other intangible I noticed in that in the past our pack have looked in awe of the Australians, for whatever reason the Aussie forwards were a bit stand offish around ours especially in the first half. They seemed to rate us too much if that is at all possible. Which is my usual complaint about the Kiwi team but tonight it was reversed (at least early in the match). Whatever was said at half time it seemed to fire up the Australians and they put in a better showing but simply didn't seem to care enough about winning to be arsed to make the big plays when they were required. For the Kiwis - I don't profess to know that much about league and only watch internationals so although Manu fucked up a couple of times, I thought the pressure he took off the forwards by taking some hit ups in our defensive end early in the tackle count was instrumental to victory. Nightengale and RTS were solid (about from one spill) under the high ball and just seemed to tackle their hearts out. Thomas was a real difference from a play making stand point and playing both him and Isaac Luke was a smart play from Kearney (probably the only good thing he has ever done). Foran is an interesting one, he simply doesn't make mistakes and he is a league players league player, but he hasn't lived up to his early projectory when he first joined the Kiwis. Still he may turn into a player who comes into his own when he gets a few grey hairs. Well done Black.
On that statistical criteria wingers are the most valuable players in the game and should get Motm awards every week.
Thought that was disgraceful how the kiwis were acting whenever Australia made a mistake in the last 10 mins. Jumping up and down and yelling insults. Very unsportsmanlike.
Kiwi's the number one ranked team in the world and rightly so, Kangaroos have lost any aura they may have had, just another oval ball team we dominate now.
Indeed - it is taking whatever semi gloss there was off the game. Would prefer to use the thread to dissect the dynamics of the match or failing that, if there are no comments, just letting the thread end before it turns into the 1300th discussion about Fiery's parenting skills.
