Astonishingly Bad Statistical Performances

As the antithesis of the other thread, this is about extraordinary shitness either in a single game or over an extended period. Such as Luke O'Donnell's unrivalled capacity to concede penalties while carrying the ball.

    First up, Ben Cockayne:

    2008 - 22 penalties conceded in 24 games
    2009 - 9 penalties conceded in 16 games
    2010 - 14 penalties conceded in 23 games
    2011 - 9 penalties conceded in 17 games
    2012 - 14 penalties conceded in 26 games
    2013 - 9 penalties conceded in 20 games

Which may not seem all that undisciplined. Until you remember that the stupid cunt is a winger and has played 3/4 of his career on the wing, with a few games at fullback, centre and off the bench. This is the man who people are touting as a potential England representative. How the fuck does a winger even manage to give away penalties so consistently? I'm not even mad, I'm just impressed.

    Anthony Watmough:

    2007 Grand Final: 100m from 13 runs, 1 error, 1 penalty, 36 tackles at 71% efficiency.

I'm almost impressed by the effort required to make 100m and still attempt 51 tackles over the course of a game. 15 missed tackles has to be one of the worst defensive performances on record.

Reckon he's given away more penalties than he's made tackles a few times. Now that'd be impressive.

    Gareth Hock:

Early March played against Hull FC. Managed 150m, 16 tackles, 6 offloads, scored a try and set up one for Phelps with a beautiful late offload. But also managed 3 handling errors and 5 penalties. Following week he managed 1 penalty and a red card in the first 30 minutes.

6 penalties, 3 errors and a red card has to be close to the most undisciplined game and a half of rugby league that you will see.

Where can I find stats from 2011 and 2012 NRL matches? There's two great examples I'm thinking of.

  6. AVA T Delonge

IIRC Thaiday had a game where he made like 5-10 metres a year or two back.

Apparently he only played 50 minutes. A shame. Was sure he played 80.

    Haha, that was it. Classic.

I haven't found an easy way. The best is to go to:

    http://www.nrl.com/TelstraPremiership/PlayerStats/tabid/10877/Default.aspx

Choose the team and player and then you can cycle back through the seasons by adjusting the url manually.

    For example:

    http://www.nrl.com/telstrapremiership/playerstats/playerprofile/tabid/10898/clubid/5/playerid/398/seasonid/41/default.aspx

Is Anthony Watmough. Change the number for different seasons:

    2013: /seasonid/41/
    2012: /seasonid/10/
    2011: /seasonid/7/
    2010: /seasonid/6/
    2009: /seasonid/5/

    etc

It's a shame nrlstats don't just have a 'past seasons' section.

They do; it's just hidden away with passwords and impossible-to-guess urls.

Yeah it use to be archived and accessible but now you need to email them to gain access.

    At what price?

My example was going to be Tony Williams v Cronulla last year. 80 mins for 16 tackles, 8 misses and 2 ineffective or some such and at least one penalty followed by getting suspended afterwards for 8 weeks too IIRC

Fuck Thaiday is a hopeless cunt,

  19. Old Mate M Perry

Nigel Vagina was a super shit cunt, no stats unfortunately.

How is one run for one metre even possible?
