I've come around to DWZ, gets through his work with good metres and while he is no Nightingale is safer than Vatuvei.
Adam Blair, Jesse Bromwich (c), Lewis Brown, Greg Eastwood, Alex Glenn, Tohu Harris, Peta Hiku, Shaun Johnson, Jordan Kahu, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Manu Ma'u, Sam Moa, Jason Nightingale, Kodi Nikorima, Kevin Proctor, Jason Taumalolo, Martin Taupau, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Danny Levi.
NZ TEAM Adam Blair (Brisbane Broncos) Jesse Bromwich - captain (Melbourne Storm) Lewis Brown (Manly Sea Eagles) Greg Eastwood (Canterbury Bulldogs) Alex Glenn (Brisbane Broncos) Tohu Harris (Melbourne Storm) Peta Hiku (Penrith Panthers) Shaun Johnson (NZ Warriors) Jordan Kahu (Brisbane Broncos) Shaun Kenny-Dowall (Sydney Roosters) Manu Ma'u (Parramatta Eels) Sam Moa (Sydney Roosters) Jason Nightingale (St George Dragons) Kodi Nikorima (Brisbane Broncos) Kevin Proctor (Melbourne Storm) Jason Taumalolo (North Queensland Cowboys) Martin Taupau (Manly Sea Eagles) Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (Penrith Panthers) Danny Levi (19th man) (Newcastle Knights)
So some huge questions like; Who's the fullback? Kahu, DWZ, Nikorima? A squad with no centres? SKD, Kahu, Harris, Brown? Who's the 5/8? Nikorima, Harris, Proctor? No dummy half selected? Nikorima + Brown? A massive cluster fuck to say the least.
All I can imagine is he told them he wants to play for QLD. Hopefully the 90k on offer for this series is enough for him to go QLD.
This is all turning a bit naff. I thought no Foran, well at least we have Thomas who could pull a performance for the ages out of the bag. Now he is injured. I was looking at that lineup posted above wondering why he wasn't in it. Stink.
I didn't waste my time watching the tour to England - wasn't he (Nikorima) one of the N00b halves we had on that tour? Or was that Hiku?
It was both. Hiku is a good player but he's an outside back they put in the halves due to a lack of other options. Nikorima is a half/hooker but not good enough to start in first grade yet, let alone Test footy. It was no surprised NZ lost to England with that halves combination.
