I really can't pick a full side at the moment, and I despise picking anyone for Australia who hasn't played origin before.

Fiery to post our potential team plox.

I guess it doesn't matter we always get thumped in the ANZAC test and do well in the world tournaments.

Also if Australia have Thurston that hurts us too. He is worth two people.

Good to see you Boobiddy - havn't seen you in a thread for a while :)

I will try but it would require a lot of guess work at the moment. RTS injury throws a bit of a spanner in the works.

Maybe something like this, Hurricane. This would be my team anyway:

    1. Tuimoala Lolohea
    2. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak
    3. Shaun Kenny-Dowall
    4. Dean Whare
    5. Manu Vatuvai
    6. Kieran Foran
    7. Shaun Johnson
    8. Ben Matulino
    9. Issac Luke
    10. Jesse Bromwich
    11. Tohu Harris
    12. Simon Mannering
    13. Jason Taumalolo

    14. Thomas Leuluai

I havn't heard of that fullback which makes me suspicious he is some rookie???

Looks like a good side. Depends how much Kearney gets us fired up for the game I would say,

Please tell me we have a new coach Fiery!

  7. Fiery GR Smith

You haven't heard of Lolohea!? You need to start watching the Warriors in the weekends then mate. Superstar in the making who has been around for a couple of seasons now. Can play anywhere in the backline and has great speed, footwork and all round skills.

Kearney still coach. Contracted until after World Cup next year

I have had to leave players like Kenny Edwards, Sam Kasiano, Frank Paul Nu’uausala, Jason Nightingale, Sam Moa, Kodi Nikorima, Curtis Rona, Junior Paulo, Tohu Harri, Sio Siua Taukeiaho and Alex Glenn out there.

Our forward pack will be brutal and we will look better on paper than the Aussies I reckon. I expect us to win this.

I am still gutted by the last world cup. I think I told everyone on cricsim that we would win as well. Or at least not to write us off. And then because Stephen Kearney said the following we got thrashed

"I won't be amping the boys up much for the final. It is important that we are cool calm and collected. We are playing against the best side in the world who have many legends of the game in their team. It is important that we don't get over excited and too amped or we will be out of control. We need to just be calm before the game and throughout the game".

WORST FUCKING ATTITUDE EVERY KEARNEY I HATE YOU AND WILL ALWAYS HATE YOU FOR THAT INTERVIEW.

Of course we have to get amped to play australia. They are better than us. If we stay calm then we only put in an ok performance. We needed to play the game of our lives in that final and Kearney took the opposite attitude and told our guys to chill out.

Fuck Bromwich, Matulino, Taumalolo is a deadly combo in the middle, especially if Bully is on his game.

    Mean.

lol. Fair enough. That final was a shocker alright. Seems we played our final in the game before that I was at Wembley. One of my favourite live sporting moments ever was Shaun Johnson's match winning try and goal in that. I celebrated in the stands like a pork chop after that one.

(Need to relive that actually. Here it is again...

He in particular was one of the reasons I thought we could win. In his first 4-5 Internationals Johnson was god awful. So whet behind the ears in International Rugby League. But I knew he was learning and I predicted he would break through in that World Cup and he did.

Yes that semi final took a lot out of us. I think we could have beaten Aussie had they played England in the semi and we played France or whoever the gimp team was that made up the other semi final spot.

It was Fiji in the other semi. Yes you heard right. Fiji!

    Hiku on the bench? Why?

  16. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

I think guys like Klemmer, Fifita, Thaiday and maybe Myles are pushing for 1 or 2 bench spots. Thaiday has an edge with being able to play edge and middle.

  17. Fiery GR Smith

Because Lolohea is better imo. I thought about starting Hiku at fullback with RTS out, with Lolohea on the bench as a utility but decided I wanted Lolohea on the field for 80 min. Maybe Hiku could start in the centres or on the wing though.

I wouldn't be picking Sam paycheck Thaiday if I were an Aussie selector.

He never turns up in International league. Well he turns up but just enough to earn his pay check. I don't think he cares for this form of the game.

Only some Australian's do. JT is one of those men and that is why we fear him.
Wally Lewis certainly cared about test matches and that's why I covet those victories over his warriors so much. That team in the 80s were a lot better than the group of All stars who Australia won the last world cup with.
