Good to see some closer games this week, but there have been fucked calls that have turned/prevented outcomes.

I thought we got dudded a bit with a few calls but overall a decent performance. Packer fucked us massively but the rest of the pack stood up well. I'd like to see Benji in for Brooks.

This is why I generally can't stand watching NRL. Too many tight games decided by wrong calls.

Gould's rant on 9 was pretty much spot on. Inside shoulder/outside shoulder shouldnt matter if the defender makes a poor read and tackles the decoy.

That's the only way you avoid rewarding the defence for poor decisions and it's the only way you avoid players diving from incidental contact.

Trying to make it black and white is pointless. It will always be discretionary and as Gould said, you see it happen all the time in general play where common sense discretion is applied. As soon as it goes to the bunker it reverts back to a black and white interpretation which rewards defenders for obvious errors.

Geez today shows just how fragile the comp really is. What would've happened had Tolman tested positive.

Would the game have been ruled a draw? Would the whole Dogs squad go into quarantine for 14 days? What would have happened to their upcoming fixtures? Again ruled as draws?

Game postponed. Test the squad and staff. Quarantining for 14 days makes no sense.

Would have been real interesting had the Roosters or Dogs been playing on the Thursday night game next week as well. Even Friday night is cutting it quite fine.

Probably would've swapped that game with a different one as well if that was the case tbh. No crowds does make this a bit easier.

Easts handle injuries and short turnarounds better than any club. I dont think it'd phase them to play again on Friday. Thursday would be a bit much tho.

Also today was a win for the Hunt > Boyd crowd.

Tolman tests negative and yet is asked to miss the next three matches. How is that not absurd...

  12. Toolman TR Man

Not as absurd as testing negative to DV or rape yet still missing years in some cases.

  13. Jake A Pimpkins

I can understand missing a week maybe because I don't think the tests are 100% in the early stages of potential infection (not sure about this though), but yeah missing 3 is too much. Some countries are doing 2-3 tests for returning citizens and finding negative on the first test 2 days in but positive on later tests even though the person has been quarantined. If after a second test 5-7 days in you're still reading negative I don't see any reason to continue isolating though.

The whole thing is an abundance of caution though, the probability he has it just because his kid went to a school where a teacher had it is extremely low.

$1100 win in 15 minutes, assuming the Dogs don't score 3 converted tries in the next 25. Practically stealing.

I think the last time a full strength/near full strength Roosters side lost the first half was in 2018. It's ridiculous.

Playing DWZ at centre is about as stupid a thing you can do. All his kick return ability to start Canterbury's sets off well is gone and he can't tackle at centre for shit either.

Agreed. They won against the hapless St George with DWZ at full back and inexplicably changed things.
Has played very well for the Kiwis back at full back too. I think he a gem of a full back.

In other news Broncos a few days ago capitulated while leading and lost when they should have won...that is directly because of a lack of self belief after getting fucked like gimps and bitches by Roosters 59-0. You lose by that much and it fucks your psyche...That said, the Broncos too good this year not to at least finish top 6. They will bounce back especially when fully fit. Broncos are the business. Just a bit young and possibly lacking some muckers who do the one percenters. They will come through.

Question lads - how good/ worthwhile a target is Jackson Hastings as the Warriors are chasing him to transfer from Wigan next season.

Brisbane's pack is great but their spine isn't. I don't think they're any guarantee to make the 8. Definitely have the making of a team that will lose games they should win.

  19. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Luke acquisition is a long shot that I think will pay off in terms of helping the spine. Luke should start ahead of the rookie they currently have. Isaac is the opposite of teflon man. Ie his mistakes do stick to him and his bad games get exaggerated. He is a very good player and has been unfairly written off. Be interesting to look at the team list broncos name tomorrow night just for who they name at number 9.

He actually played on the wing with Hopoate at fullback tbf.
