Calling it now...
Manly vs Souths GF
lol did I just elicit an actual physical reaction from you?
I'd really love to see a Broncos v Parramatta GF or a Penrith v Newcastle one, but that shit ain't happening.
I bet Raiders finish 9th or similar.
Hate both of those teams so that final is very disturbing for me
Gonna wait for squads to predict anything.
I made this comment a couple months back but there's really been no movement of significant note that makes me think the competition will be a whole lot different to this year. It's been the quietest transfer market I can remember in my time supporting the game.
The teams that will improve will be those who can develop their younger players or have had a head coach change and those two things can be quite hard to predict.
well Cronk is gone. who's going to be their halfback?
Manly will almost certainly do better if Tom can get through a full season. With Tom T they wouldve beaten Souths and maybe the Raiders as well. Hasler is remarkable imo.
I may be way off here but I don't think Cronk was everything people made him out to be.
For Robinson to say post game though that Cronk is the most intelligent thinker he has come across in the game but even he has a better left to right pass probably suggests there's more value there than I can judge looking from the outside in.
Klye Flannagan gets first shot I'd think, can't say I've thought much of him so far but he's only a young halfback we're not going to get a whole lot out of him this early in his career anyway I don't think. As long as it's not Drew fucking Hutchinson.
I assume Keary shifts to halfback.
How many rounds in before they move Latrell to 6?
Yeh Manly were the real deal this year.
On the flip side I think Parramatta over performed this year, I expect they will drop down the ladder a bit.
I don't think Parra will fall too much as I can see them coming between 6th-8th but they were definitely the biggest overachiever.
Warriors are due a randomly good year I reckon. Can see them doing well.
I'm optimistic about what we can achieve. I definitely think we overachieved, but with a stable spine (and ideally more improvement from Brown) I think we can at least replicate this season and comfortably make the 8 again. With the stable, decent backline we had at the end of the season and hopefully a back in form RCG we have a much better team compared to most of this season, so even without the overachieving we should be alright.
So much will depend on how much you get out of Dylan Brown IMO. I've always quite liked Moses as a halfback and I think if he's allowed to just organise the side and do his thing without having the pressure of being the primary creator also you guys could improve as a team on last year.
Banking on a 20yr old is a bit of a stretch though.
I don't think you gain much in RCG that you didn't already have in Kane Evans. He's probably a bit of an upgrade but very similar players.
Parramatta's middle third defence has been pretty despicably bad for a while, and they needed to do something to change that. RCG is a better defender than Evans in general so I think it's a pretty important upgrade, but I think they'll both be playing anyway.
Flanagan goes alright IMO. As long as they can fit him into their structure he'll hold his spot.
If they aren't in the top 4 by the start of origin, pretty much a guarantee it's a big discussion point. Especially if Latrell continues to be a lazy cunt not getting involved.
Yeah 100% re: Moses. With Brown and RCG, considering half our season was playing with Salmon and Mannah, as well as no Fergo and some scuffed centres, I'd argue that the games we had at the back end of the season are much more reflective of the team compared to some of the flukier performances we had during the first half of the season which allowed us to overachieve and get that comfortable top 8 spot.
Yeah I forgot about our god awful defence. Ideally we can improve with that across the board but I'm never comfortable there. And yeah, can't see how we wont have both Evans and RCG playing.
Separate names with a comma.
