Yeah I agree. I really can't see them dropping either of the first halves pairing to win a series.

You'd have to think Guerra's wrapped up that left second row spot for a while now. McQueen, if they're going to pick him will have to settle for a bench spot, which is good. Increases the chances of him being overlooked entirely. Lillyman played well enough in this series to remain so with Cherry-Evans that leaves only two bench spots. Te'o will probably not be in the NRL, which is ironic because he actually played well in the middle.

I can see us fielding something like this:

    1.Slater
    2.Boyd
    3.Inglis
    4.Hodges
    5.Chambers
    6.Thurston
    7.Cronk
    8.Scott
    9.Smith (c)
    10.Myles
    11.Guerra
    12.Thaiday
    13.Parker

    14.Cherry-Evans
    15.Lillyman
    16.Papalii
    17.McQueen

If they pick Taylor again I'm gonna fucking lose it. Hopefully an injury, even dare I say to Papalii, leads to the inclusion of McGuire or Shillington or Lawrence. If McQueen missed out for one of those three I'd be over the moon.

    Gillett will be there.

lol I knew I forgot someone (so many god damned second rowers). Yeah he'll be there.

I'm a bit concerned about our middle third we've used plenty of tall timber yet none demand.selection at a longview really comes down to who builds
The best case between now and then

    Fifita
    Tamou
    Tolman
    Grant
    Vaughan
    Mannah
    Douglas
    Snowden

If two of the above fire we're much better off.as for all the good work by.gal bird.in middle.we were undersized and qld countered our go forward rapidly
    As.the series unfolded

  7. Julian BJ Taylor

Vaughan has well and truly proven himself. Has to be there.

@benny, I assume you're playing Bird on the right?

And I really think NSW need to look at picking a utility who can cover Farah.

  9. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Well and truly is a stretch.

  10. Jazz NC Smith

NSW have too many left edge second rowers. Bird, Cordner and Hoffman are all left side. Lewis plays right but even then, the majority of his club career in recent years has been spent on the port side.

  11. Magic AJ Parker

Cordner played right edge in the test this year and did pretty well. Would've started there for NSW if not for his injury.

Reckon Hoffman could play there quite comfortably too, he's essentially just a toiler these days & he's a right arm carry so I don't see any reason why he couldn't.

  12. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Lewis was very good there for NSW in 2013. I'd be picking the proven player.

Now that Te'o is out of the picture, just need to keep our fingers crossed that Gaylor and McQueer are overlooked.

  14. Old Mate M Perry

Won't happen. They're experienced and mega talented rep forwards.

It's going to be interesting to see which of the first and third games next year are nominated for NSW and QLD. With Game 2 in Melbourne you'd have to think Game 1 will be in Sydney. It's already a disadvantage to the Blues to have to give up a match to what is essentially a proxy home game for QLD. I mean it's obviously not the same as having to play at Brisbane but it's far from a warm reception that they receive over the southern border. The only way to compensate for that in my mind is to grant them the most important game of the series which is obviously the first.

On the other hand, the series could be wrapped up again before we even get a proper home game. In short, taking games to Melbourne is all sorts of homo. I used to be a lot more inclusive about this idea but these days I'm rather chauvinistic about the whole enterprise. Fuck Melbourne afaic. Fuck New Zealand too; no offence to our neighbours. And of course, fuck America. This is a QLD/NSW concept. It should remain as such IMO.

  16. Mr Fourex MR Fourex

Tell that to David Smith. He'll already be busy whoring off the 2016 "free game" to the next highest bidder that comes along.

We could end up watching the game being played in downtown Tokyo before too soon.....

I really don't think that makes sense.

  18. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

lol that belongs in the Colesy thread.

You could have been quoting any Fourex post.

I hate the advantage a team gets from having two home games so I actually support taking a game outside of NSW/Queensland every year, providing it can draw a crowd. Should always be Game II IMO.
