He had his fare share of involvement, a lot of hitups. You're right though, he looked very underdone to be playing at this level. Probs was lucky to be up against Hoppa and not someone else.
Hopefully he can get it right by G2.

What did you blokes make of Morgan's stint in this game? Thought he did alright.

  3. Paddy P Orr

    Agreed. That miss was disgraceful.

  4. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

I wouldn't call it disgraceful. I think his timing was wrong. if he made a tackle, it probably would have been before Morris got the ball.

  5. Speirz DG Speirs

There was an even worse push in the back on Tupou later on from a grubber that resulted in a drop-out. If he'd missed the ball rather than knocking it dead it probably would've ended up being a penalty again.

  6. Julian BJ Taylor

Tamou and Woods proved me wrong. Klemmer was great.

But Fifita, Jackson, Cordner and Merrin were all mediocre at best. Saving Merrin until the last 25 or so was ridiculous. As was Jackson in the middle and Corner in the middle.

With the cattle they have available, Merrin must play at least 60mins at lock.

  8. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

    And fuck Fifita off.

  9. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Buzz is calling for change

    Gallen for Jackson
    Borris for Hoppa
    Maloney for Hodkinson
    Walker for Jennings
Jackson to the bench, Cordner dropped
    Ennis for Farah if injured.

  10. Cribbage RG Cribb

Well Gallen and Borris were injured so it's fair enough that they come back. It's not really a knee-jerk if that happens. I'd actually replace Tupou rather than Hoppa though.

  11. Julian BJ Taylor

Yeah and bringing in Maloney would be extra chromosome stuff.

  12. Mr Chook MR Chook

Gallen to replace Jackson. And Borris in for Toops would be my only changes.

  13. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

    You'd retain Fifita?

    Also, Jackson outplayed Cordner.

  14. Magic AJ Parker

lol @ Merrin being the only one who ended up getting charged out of this game too. With so much deliberate grubby shit going on the accidental lift that wasn't even a penalty is the only thing that gets cited.

  15. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

    Seriously?

I hope he doesn't get any time for it, that would be pretty fucked.

  16. Mr Chook MR Chook

Dropping Fifita for Gallen would push Jackson back to the bench which would make Merrin, Jackson, Cordner, Klemmer. 3 back rowers isn't the best bench rotation.
Jackson got more gametime than Cordner and was ineffective. If I had to choose dropping one I'd drop Jackson but maybe I'm biased.

  17. Julian BJ Taylor

Continuing with 4 forwards on the bench, no relief at dummy half for Farah and not picking Blake Austin is full on frittata stuff.

  18. Toolman TR Man

They didn't use Cordner properly at all. It was all Fifita's fault, they put Cordner into the middle because they were going nowhere.

If Pearce is playing Cordner should be playing ahead of Jackson. I reckon BMorris will make a huge difference too, they needed a better winger to start off some of their sets.

  19. Magic AJ Parker

You either pick Cordner at left edge and drop Hoffman for being an inferior player or he just doesn't play at all afaic.

If you want to pick a 2nd rower on the bench who can cover some time at lock despite having 3 middle thirds on your bench (fuck knows why Daley) then Frizzell is your man.

Dale Finucane should be our starting lock fwiw.

  20. Julian BJ Taylor

    No he shouldn't.

He stunk it up in City Country. Gallen, Tolman and Vaughan could all play the role he does much more effectively than him.
