I'm taller but he's more solid.

I used to follow the draft a fair bit, but now because I follow college basketball and college football this just seems so shit in comparison.

Love it. Actually knowing a few players helps.

Although I mainly focus on who Richmond will pick up.

Last year was the last year with kids I might know getting drafted but now I've lost interest.

Nothing in this country can be compared to College sports in the US

Yeah, this. And with no real coverage and no one me/my brother has played against I'm not as keen.

  7. Mousey AJ Son

Yeah exactly, just seems so lackluster.

Not TAC but the SA version.

I might (very small chance) have made it had the development been alright and I had the motivation. I was new to the game so was very lacking on the skills front relative to other top end juniors but I'd probably have been top 2-3 for speed & agility and without a doubt had the highest vertical leap, best tackle and best bump by a mile.

Was asked out to testing and pre season training squads but at the time my mother didn't allow me to; focus on studies etc. and I'm glad. I never enjoyed playing AFL as much as I enjoy watching it + my pcs is dire.

I'm not saying I'd have made it - my footskills were so awful it's unlikely but like, in terms of physical ability I was ahead of Brodie Grundy (then again, he was younger than me and just as new to the game). I've manned up on Sam Day for a match though, etc.

I'll probably go out and play amateur league next year.

Do you know Grundy personally Skip?

He'd know me by name and all that, yeah. Grew up in the same area, went to rival schools and played a bit of footy with/against. Nothing really in common, he's not a friend nor someone I give a shit about. We do have a lot of mutual good friends though.

I would have been in the best 5 kicks throughout my career but I could do little else, besides maybe reading the ball (the reason why I was a good junior FB/CHB), but I reckon if I'd have been fitter I'd have been a pretty good midfielder. My stint as a midfielder in U16s was by far the best footy I ever played; I was pretty good at finding the ball (helped that I was 5cm and 10kg heavier than the next guy), my disposal was elite, and I finally had the fitness. Then I ruined my shoulder playing shoe cricket and missed the first 6 weeks of the next season and went back to key position forward (yuck) or back.

    Lynch Zone > Fev Zone

    Love playing FF

Haha the best was that i always felt I had the speed, strength Andy kicking sbilitymto play FF. just didn't have height.

When I played a comeback year I played for a poor B fade team. The coach looked at me like I was Judd. Let me play wherever I wanted. Do what I want. Told him I wanted to play f he said are you sure I said yep. Anyway, went on to kick 5. After that he thought I was Christ. Was laughable

Full forward is the worst position in football. You rely almost entirely on the delivery on the ball from others, and if you play on shit teams like I did half of them blaze away and have a shot from 50m anyway.

The best position in football is centre half back. Yes, you do a lot of running, but your man gets his ball too far away from goal to kick any, and the opportunity to make use of mistakes is massive. One bad kick and you're in prime position to set up a goal or kick one yourself. Then, if you've got a good leg, you play the quarterback role :fap:

If you have a good midfield FF is awesome

This. Fuck I loved CHB. The ability to set up your teams play, provide that run off the back line. CHB, wing, rover and HFF

Even then I reckon it's more rewarding to create a goal then get on the end of someone else's work.

Running off of halfback is so much easier than anywhere else too. Half of the oppo forwards are princesses who don't try to tackle, the other half can't. And then you'd got so much space, so many options. You just can't do wrong!

So so wrong. I set up a goal on Sunday and was filthy with myself. Always want to be the one kicking them.

You're all crazy! Crazy I say!
