Malcolm Turnbull Great work roosters!! I don't normally say this about leftwingers but Tupou is a genius! haha, gun.
Yeah I really didn't think they were capable of it. Very impressive against a Manly side that was better across the park and had the big game experience.
Fuck David Williams was bad though. He'll be wishing he sorted out his contract situation before that game I reckon...
Boyd outside Inglis is nothing. He's actually good on the wing even though he's made to look better. Williams is only in FG because he's outside Lyon. Cunt is hopeless.
I think what amazes me about that more than anything is how un-Easts-like that win actually was. They've built their whole season on backing their defensive structures to hold on their own line and having enough periods where they dominate territory through strong forward pack momentum to build pressure and score enough points. In this game they looked vulnerable on both edges all night and couldn't get on top in the forwards enough to march down the field easily, only to stage a come-from-behind victory in the last 20 with some proper creative attacking football and a good short kicking game.
Why? I remember someone saying somewhere that they were the first team to really make use of the salary cap boost, it kinda makes sense. Unless you mean "How did they win with Pearce?".
I just got back from the game and I must say it was great to see Manly lose and David Wolfman Williams having a shocker. The atmosphere was great, sat above the rooster bay and I got into cheering for the Roosters, something I never thought I would do. From what I saw I thought SBW would have been the MOTM but DCE had a good game.
