Even if he underperformed....he's not up to anything but being a bowler/bowling all rounder in this comp.
Yeah true but if you've got a really strong middle order like they do, you just need to him take the shine off the new ball and get consistent 30s. Kind of like what Botha did for Gemmell last season, except with the middle order actually scoring runs.
Hurricanes CPL 1. Herschelle Gibbs 2. Tim Paine+ 3. Owais Shah 4. Sachin Tendulkar 5. Ashwell Prince 6. Paul Collingwood (6) 7. Shakib Al Hasan (4) 8. Shahid Afridi (5) 9. Stuart Broad (3) 10. Andre Nel (2) 11. Sreesanth (1) I reckon this team is getting overrated by plenty. Gibbs and Paine aren't great openers, Shah, Prince and Collingwood all average around 40 in FC cricket. Sreesanth is an awful bowler, Nel's deteriorating and Broad's stats aren't that flash. That said though I think they'll do pretty well, but not as well as most seem to think.
Well that won't help him. The team is decent, but it's getting overrated by people because they're all names of the game IMO. This is a stats based game, not an opinion based one.
I don't think someone should rely on being carried by one batsman though. Well, not really carried, but all his other bats are average. He's the only x-factor in the line up. That's dangerous imo. It may turn out that they all do enough and Tendulkar guns it and they win the comp, but I feel the batting lineup doesn't have enough firing power to take the comp out.
Yeah, that's a fair point actually. Shakib at 7 is fairly decent, even if his stats don't back it up and then Afridi and Broad at 8 and 9 could be handy if there is a collapse or lackluster batting performance.
3. Owais Shah 4. Sachin Tendulkar 5. Ashwell Prince 6. Paul Collingwood That's an awesome middle order tbh and they have Broad at nine; their batting should be fine IMO. Especially if they can trade Prince or Colly for an opening bat.Their bowling is a bit more up in the air though.
