The NRL is doing it's best to keep Twitter happy.

I think you weight experience far less than I do when assesing a player/squad.

Sports bodies have to work with government bodies to ensure they get funding, stadiums, etc. The NRL or arlc or whomever doesn't really have much choice in the matter, although I know they are highly encouraged to place certain members on their board who love this shit. Peter Beattie was an obvious government tool, and I know there's some fat female marxist professor placed on the board who wouldn't know shit fuck all about rugby league or how to run a business. They have to abide by 'cultural commitments and expectations'. This is why you see all sports across the board support the same things simultaneously like gay marriage. Nothing much has changed from the days of Roman nobles funding games and stadiums and then using them to promote themselves, their power and their message. The people who ran the day to day business of the colosseum did what they were told.

Have a look at this fat slut's bio.. it's even worse than I thought. She's not just a marxist whore, she's an actual UN diplomat making sure our game runs to the tune of the globalist agenda:

Professor Davis is currently Pro Vice Chancellor UNSW and Acting Commissioner of the NSW Land and Environment Court and a member of the NSW Sentencing Council. An admitted solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law, Professor Davis is a constitutional law professor specialising in constitutional design and constitution-building and one of the nation’s leading public constitutional lawyers.

Professor Davis was a member of the Prime Minister’s Expert Panel on constitutional recognition of Indigenous peoples in 2011 and a member of the Prime Minister’s Referendum Council (2015-2017). Professor Davis has served a lengthy diplomatic career in the United Nations over the past 18 years as a Fellow of the UNHCHR in Geneva, an expert member and chair of the UNPFII in New York (2011-2016), an expert in peacemaking and preventive diplomacy for UNITAR and an expert member of the UN Human Rights Council's EMRIP in Geneva.

In New York, she was actively involved in the work of UN Women. Professor Davis’s outstanding career has been recognised in 2016 through the United Nations Association Queensland Community award for dedication and contribution to the Queensland community reflecting the United Nations principles; as one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence by the Australian Financial Review and Westpac, and one of NITV’s 20 inspiring black women who changed Australia.

Brisbane are coming top four guaranteed and I will avatar bet anyone a 3 month duration who doubts that.

To your point they could do fuck all in the playoffs where it really matters but in the regular season the experience factor that you are weighting highly is less critical.
Brisbane absolutely 2nd or 3rd in the regular season mark it down or take up me on a friendly avatar bet.
Again, like you, I would be surprised to see them make the grand final, but that is not in the scope of my prediction.

So my team, being a kiwi is the warriors, we have New Castle game one. They have a really good side and Mitchell Pearce is like a fine wine that keeps getting better with age. In terms of League IQ he is in the top 5 in the World.
Klemmer should be containable as he plays like a hired gun for NC as opposed to putting his heart into it. Pearce aside our backs are better than theirs and in general the Warriors backs will surprise a few teams this year. However, our forwards need to match New Castle and that seems unlikely. Will be watching though. Can't wait for next week.

  7. Julian BJ Taylor

    I'll take that bet.

Brisbane could well be good. I like Croft. They could very well be pretty fucking shit though, definitely not a definite top 4 though given they have Jack Bird at fullback and are thing in the forwards.

Given you have the best avatar on the site, i'll now be deathriding the Broncs.

OK Julian. *Shakes hand*. Bet is made for 3 month duration.
I will only bet Julian as I don't want to lose my avatar for multiple 3 month stints.

Brisbane are going to carve up unless key injuries occur as they are reliant on some superstars.

Payne Haas is going to electric this season and put on Jaw dropping performances. I could see it in the Aus vs NZ test match. We couldn't manage him. And our Kiwi forwards are big units.

I plan to watch as many Broncos matches as I can and so should you blokes. It will be high impact rugby league not seen before since the days of Blocker Roache. Get ready for the Broncos.

The collisions in the middle third are going to be next level.

  12. Alex AJ O'Driscoll

    Are you serious?

  13. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Hamming it up for LOLs. But yes partly serious. Haas will turn heads this season.

  14. Alex AJ O'Driscoll

    He did last year.

  15. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Agreed but I got the feeling he was still growing last year and will be 20% better this season.
He only turned 20 in December.

  16. Magic AJ Parker

I got this feeling that Coronavirus is going to fuck this season up so badly.

Once it becomes widespread which looks like an inevitability do you stop players from interacting with fans?

Do they play in empty stadiums?

Imagine clubs that are going to have to quarantine large parts of their squad during crucial periods of the season.

Brisbane will carve up and get carved up. Players like Cook and Tedesco will destroy them through the middle as their big coconuts flail around in defence. They've got the balance wrong.

  18. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Good post I like this analysis. Thanks Toolman.

Noted about Cook and Tedesco "and like players" but in general teams other than Souths and Roosters may not have the strike power to expose them.

Only six out of 16 teams scored more than 500 points for last year and would have the strike you talk about to boss the Broncos or run them ragged.

  19. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Brisbane leak like a re-used tampon. You dont need Cook or Tedesco to expose them.

  20. AVA T Delonge

Yeah fair enough if you think their forward pack will get them on the front foot and scoring points, but why would you assume that means their defence is top tier? They let in 58 points in the semifinal...
