I played for Tweed in 09 and 10 but I've moved home now.

2nd trials tomorrow night. Play both other local clubs for 30mins. Pretty fucking keen.

Despite it being a preseason fixture and not round one, the Port City Breakers, the Wauchope Blues and new boys on the block the Port Macquarie Sharks will battle it out in a triangle trial to see who advances to the next stage of the tournament.
The idea is the brainchild of Theo Marsh, the Breakers secretary who noticed a similar competition when he was in Group 6.
The match will pit all sides against each other over three 30-minute stanzas. The two teams who move on to the finals at Taree on April 14 will be the two who accumulate the highest score.
They will then play the best of the southern teams in the group – either Taree, Old Bar, Forster or Wingham.
Kicking off at 7.10pm, the Port Sharks will take on the Breakers in the first half-hour before the Wauchope Blues substitute with the Sharks. The Sharks will then come back in for the final half an hour to take on the Blues.
Group 3 secretary Barrie Smith is excited for the fixture and hopes to see it continue in the years to come.
“This is the first time we’ve run in,” he said.
“Hopefully it will be an ongoing thing for us every season.”
Marsh said he couldn’t wait for the games to get under way.
“It should be a terrific night,” he said.
“It’s a great way to open the season for all the teams and it will be a really high-quality night of rugby league, in my opinion.”

reckon you've copped the worst of that. having a 30 min break is a bit dire.

 

Yeah I was hoping we would get the first two fixtures so we could just have two 30 mins halves to prepare for. Its a night game and is raining here currently so I'm not looking forward to trying to keep hammy's etc warmed up for halfa between games.

 

played my first game since the grand final last year (september) hand went real well, didn't hinder me at all, got about 30-35 mind (60 min game) was pretty fucked afterwards, you don't realise how important match fitness is until you've not played for like 9 odd months.

yeah went on after about 15 and went off with 10 to go, had to play lock for a little while as our lock went off with a bad cork.

 

Had a very frustrating season. Have had a new coach this seaso who I've had nothing to do with previously. signed a contract for gaurenteed money per start and its basically kept me from playing. Missed some training through preseason due to workand yeah been put back in reserves after starting and playing 60mins + every game last season.

Got told my discipline was not up to standard in terms of penalties etc. Carved up reserve grade for the past few weeks andsat on the bench unused. Pretty keen to prove the cunt wrong tbh. I'm back in the first grade squad finally and i don't reckon I've been this motivated to play since i was 16 shitting bricks upon elevation to first grade.

scored my first try for the season today which was gun.

Yesterday was one of the most satisfying first grade wins I've played in. Were sitting 5th before the match playing the 4th placed Breakers who are our Rivals which has been explained earlier in the thread. We went into HT up 16-12 but they got two quickly after the break and we were down 24-16. Came back to score two more and won by 4 points..
