    You get worse by the day on here. If it's not out and out dishonesty, or pissing in the pockets of Roosters players and defending them and the club against any attack, it's a combination of both along with a derisive tone.

    Me saying I don't think Maloney is very good doesn't prove he is the most underrated player on Cricsim. Unless of course you think MF is Cricsim, in which case fair enough.

    Er, that's not speaking on behalf of Cricsim. That's my perception of the general opinion of him. You're just using sloppy inductive reasoning. By that standard any comment on the general opinion of him, such as you saying he's arguably the most underrated player on here, means by implication that you're speaking on behalf of Cricsim too.

    That's just fallacious.

    I actually don't really think he has. He's playing in a much better structure behind a better pack; he hasn't really improved as such for mine. He was a good player when he went there and he's a good player now. What aspects of his game do you think he's actually improved?

    I don't think this is true either. There are more negative posts about him because the media and general public opinions of him have skyrocketed, and that's the opinion generally argued against. He was an 75/100 player with a 60/100 reputation and now he's a 75/100 player with an 85/100 reputation who got picked for three Origin games purely because he played at the same club as another player who shouldn't have been there anyway. I don't think CricSim opinions of him have really changed as much as they're just arguing against something different now from the same position.

    I think he plays his short sides a lot better than he ever did at the Warriors. Improved defensively too, even if he is still prone to falling into old habits every now and then.

    Nah there's a lot of comments on here about how limited he is which is true to an extent for all non-elite halves but extremely exaggerated on here. Quotes exactly like this;

    And MF just backs up my point. "Very, very average".

    I mean Jeff Robson is what you'd refer to as very average.

    No, Jeff Robson is what you'd refer to as shit or below average. Though it's a relativist way of looking at it, he's certainly not in the top 10 halfbacks in the NRL. Maloney's certainly in the top 8 or 10 five-eighths but that speaks to the complete and utter dearth of quality five-eighths atm IMO.

    No, you're right. I didn't use it relatively because that's a bogus way of analysing players. I didn't consciously think to myself where would I place him in relation to the other 15 or so five-eighths in the NRL.

    I think he's an ordinary ball player, with an ordinary kicking game and an above average running and support game. He hasn't dramatically improved as a player since coming to the Roosters at all IMO.

    2010 was when Maloney poked his head up as a player with serious potential. Since leaving the Warriors, I think he's gone considerably downhill.
