Time to really work on it I guess, since some of you are getting all "it's never going to happen" like. I've decided the best way to go about it is probably PHP for me, it's a bit easier and quicker to make than in C++, and it'll make stats keeping easy and making a site simple, if I go ahead and do that at some stage (with Rob's permission to have it on here obv ). Here is the place to discuss things like: Attributes to be used (GKs and the rest of the players will have different attributes) Features Help me with things you might think I have/will miss. And before it's suggested, yes I will code in fights.
Make it a high percentage (or 100% bascially ) of teams goings to a EN when their is only 1 goal in it. Stuff like that? Body checks through the glass?
How about: Speed, Passing, Accuracy/Shooting for forwards, Blocking/Tackling for defenders and Strength as a secondary stat to increase shooting or tackling as well as being used for fighting and then Stopping/Blocking for GKs
Reaction time or something. 'Reactions' maybe? Could work well for the puck off thing at the start and on penalties and for goalkeepers Also i'd one of the most important things would be really epic commentary/play by play.
For goalies : Glove Stick/Blocker 5-Hole Reflexes Positioning Puck Handling Injury proneness/Fitness Puck Handling Speed Thats about it really
For Players - Offensive Vision Defensive Vision Stick Handling/Deking Passing Shot Power Shot Accuracy Fitness/Injury proneness Speed I could just copy paste all the attributes from NHL09 and you could pick and choose whatever you like?
The most important thing is that the player stats output actually effects the result directly and isn't calculated completely separately, IMO. Unlike another sim you've made.

I was under the impression that the scoreline and the player stats outputs were calculated separately. Both based on the attributes of each player entered, but not actually directly related. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.
They're related, just not as well as I would have liked. Still that's what I get for turning something that wasn't meant to be a sim, into some sort of sim >_>
To be put through the glass is a must imo. Maybe fighting skills, so when you get in a fight, determines how good of a fighter you are.
Will definitively need to have 'How likely are you to start a fight?' and 'How good are you in fights?' Or something along those lines.
