Well you're saying his contract should mean nothing. Is he any different to everyone else? And how is not releasing a contracted player who hasn't asked me for a release being a dickhead? Do you just blindly try and argue with me no matter how much of a cockhead it makes you look like?
Reminds me of the time the Stickies asked the Vipers to release me and weaken their squad so I could join you guys. In evey case I can think of (at least since I have been here), a release has been granted up until now.
Expect any less? The release was never going to happen, or will never happen with any highly skilled player when under Gemmell. Freddy shouldn't have wasted inbox space.
You refusing to release him even if he does ask for one (which you stated) makes you a dickhead, pretty much.
That was completely different. The Vipers were in last place and no chance of making the finals and we were in first place and needed the batting after Thornton got banned.
Nuh, dog act by the player, not the team, if they want to leave. (assuming the club hasn't done something to make them want to leave)
The Danno thing is seriously meh, he changes his mind every 25 seconds and he doesn't post much so it's not going to matter which team he's at. But the Stickies should definitely release Bakkum given the circumstances. He's really found a home at the Saders since Wilson and Tyson came back and restored order; he gets along with all the guys there really well now and he has a secure first grade spot. It's not like he's asking for a mid-season release or something, he's asking to stay at the club he is currently (and I know Danno was too, but *points to first paragraph*).
Contacts are and should be binding, as long as they are entered into knowingly and not under any duress, and as I can't see how anyone could force any form of duress over the internet, I will assume that the contract is valid. There fore as a Club President Boob needs to think about the best for his club. If this means not releasing a player then that's what he should do. The only reason any-one ever releases someone is because they don't want to create disharmony, and the gamblers have proved they don't care about club disharmony when they signed Spinksy who no-one at the club likes.
It really wouldn't be any skin off Danno's nose if he stays or goes really. Everyones just jumping on a Gamblers hate-bandwagon.
