I don't particularly like Akhtar, but there was no other quick, strike bowlers left that have proven themselves to be o on the international scene tbh.
I hate Sharma and he was gone anyway. Quite frankly Shoaib Akhtar > Laith Malinga in every version of the game. Akhtar may not have played tests for a while but that comes down to politics and he has still been playing cricket of late so he shouldn't have declined too much.
