    He said similar about Mullen last season when we signed Rogers. He said that Mullen would definitely be one half and Rogers/Dureau/Walsh would be the other. Mullen ended up off the bench for a few games after he missed one or two through injury.

    For him to be a good centre it will take a fair while for him to get use to the position so no point when you could just use him at Five-eighth and have one of the best five-eighths in the world.

    The only thing that ;ets Carney down at all is his front on defence against good ball players putting wide runners into holes. But in saying that, it is no worse than many other five-eighths in the game besides the better defensive ones like Anasta, Campo et al.

    No big deal. Luke Walsh plays first grade and countless times I've seen him actually throw himself on the floor to avoid making a tackle.

    Yeah and the good thing is that Smith is adamant that Pearce at halfback is one of the only things he is certain of at this stage.

    I actually think carney would be a ****ing great Fullback. Play him as a 2nd Five Eigth to pre-dominantly use his running game but he could mix it up with shifting wider as he has more than enough skill to create for supports.

    I reckon Pearce is a terrible kicker so you have carney play as a kicking option late in the set. Similiar to the way Hayne has been great playing a roving fullback role this season.

    Pearce's long kicking game is great. Pearce, Anasta & Carney all have gun long kicking games.
