Gosh the LAnders are well coached. I reckon they play a test match style of play.

Some of the players currently injured will be recovered by then.

Yeah but that messes with combos and there is a lot of season ending injuries too, it's a long season so you want as many fit as possible. Like I say I hope they do well. The more NZ teams we can sneak in the play offs the better. Canes, Landers and Chiefs in the play offs would make me happy. Blues and Saders not so much :p

4. Rego RS Hutchinson

I just see the Chiefs as more of a mid table team now with the injuries. But mid table can still make the play offs which is all you need.

Could even end up with 4 NZ teams in the play offs tbh.

5. Rego RS Hutchinson

Yeah best NZ team so far IMO. Don't quite see them winning it again though.

*Points to points table (and Points Differential in particular)

Chiefs > Highlanders > Canes > Saders > Blues

7. Rego RS Hutchinson

That means absolutely SFA 5 games in when teams have played all different teams. Come back to me come play off time with that BS.

8. Fiery GR Smith

OK I will

9. Hurricane JD Hurricane

The JAguares have no game plan. They just run everything. And because the opposition knows they will run it the defensive line can come up quickly and shut them down.

You need a little bit of kicking Los Pumas.

Just watched a replay of the Chiefs v Force rout. Tremendous skills on display. Some of the best rugby I have seen for a while. That McKenzie is some player. Ngatai has to be an AB as well.

A lot of credit for the way they are playing has to go to Dave Rennie. The team is playing at such high pace, with so much cohesion all the injuries aren't even affecting us. Best NZ team and probably best in the comp.

*Rego to remain in classic denial

11. Rego RS Hutchinson

I'm not in denial. I've always had a hard on for Ngatai...besides he's be an AB. Most balanced centre I've seen in sometime. I really wish he had stayed it out at the Canes/ Welly.

In regards to the denial thing, the season is long. I'm predicting the whole season when I'm saying I see the Chiefs ending up around mid table, by then how well/ badly a team started the season is a little irrelevant.

The Chiefs have played the Saders, Lions, Kings, Jags and Force - all teams you'd expect to finish below the Chiefs with the Saders maybe similar. All games the Chiefs should have won in that theory, although losing to the Lions. The Brumbies game up this week and a game where they can really show how good they are because the injuries have hurt the Chiefs the most.

Man, I don't know what game you've been watching because we're definitely NOT looking like a team that will finish mid-table. More like top-table. Injuries haven't hurt us one bit. Still the best team in the comp...(with the most points )

We're a team who mix power with panache, exhilarating brilliance in fact, and the gulf between us and the rest of the NZ team (maybe bar the Highlanders) is just massive. You keep going on about these injuries but I haven't seen a better drilled, more well-oiled Super rugby machine take the field for a long time.

And we've overcome an arduous travel schedule with ease. We are the team beat...genuine title-contenders. Time to face it Rego. Injuries schminjuries.

You're not hearing what I'm saying. Injuries hurt teams later on and the Chiefs have played all teams they've been expected to beat....a bad team can make any team look good. Wait until the Brumbies this weekend and your argument will have more validity.

Landers are the best NZ team ATM IMO anyway (based on form).

And you're not hearing what I'm saying. And I don't even think you're seeing what the rest of the rugby public are Rego.

It's the style of rugby and the margins of victory that have impressed most. All done with a massive injury list.

And the Force, Jaguares, Lions and Crusaders are not bad teams. The Lions loss is a distant memory now the way the have played since then.

I don't buy your point about injuries affecting the team further down the line when players will be back from injury and we've been racking up a ton of points on the scoreboard in games and on the table...while we have all these injuries. It doesn't make sense. I don't think we would have been expected to beat the Crusaders and Jaguares away or teams like the Force by such a huge margin.

You realise the teams you've been beating with large margins (Force/ Kings) other teams have as well.....the only game the Chiefs have played well start to finish is the Saders and Force one (although more 2nd half that one).

If the Chiefs are as good as you say they'll beat the Brumbies this weekend but even I wouldn't bet that....

16. Fiery GR Smith

Yes this will defo be our toughest game so far but I am expecting another win tbh. They're just back from a pretty ordinary couple of games in SA and their form is scratchy at best.

No one has beaten the Force by as big a margin as we did. Your Canes beat them quite heavily but the final score was flattering. They were well in that game for 60 min and they got themselves into a position to challenge the Brumbies too with 10 min to go and their other games have been close. Whereas they weren't even on the same playing field as my mighty Chiefs

What's the bet Fiery takes the logic that if the Chiefs beat a team and another team didn't beat that same team then clearly the Chiefs are better.....lol things change week to week and month to month. This is a long competition and the winner is the one that can last the whole way. I've never said the Chiefs are bad (I have always said if their whole team was fit they're the best team on paper in NZ). I have just said I see them around mid table, maybe sneaking into the play offs. There's many factors to consider when looking at the whole season. Current form is down the list a bit. Canes have been pretty shit but we're 3 from 5 which isn't bad, win wise you'd say a play off team, form wise you'd say not. Got to consider all factors. Chiefs haven't been as great as you make them sound. Good but nothing great. They lost a Lions game they should have pissed in and nearly gave a game away against a Jags team they were well and truly beating. Highlanders have been the only team I've been fully impressed with. Saders haven't been too bad after week 1, bloody good last week.

Why refer to me in the 3rd person when you're talking to me?

We're going round in circles but you're like a stuck record playing the same thing over and over, as opposed to the beautiful music my record and team are playing.

Chiefs have been not just good, not just great, but absolutely sensational in recent weeks. Form team of the comp. Believe the hype Rego.

You willing to make a bet with me that we will finish mid table mate?

19. Rego RS Hutchinson

The Chiefs schedule to finish the season:

Brumbies, Blues, Bye, Canes, Sharks, Landers, Bye, Rebels, Tahs, Saders, Reds, Landers

That's one tough schedule. The byes don't break the season up nicely at all for the Chiefs either. Really no easy beats out of that lot to target. The Blues are capable of causing some upsets and the Reds are looking better. I'm sorry but the open to your season is as easy as it gets. Even you'd agree.

I'm not going to bet that. Any bettor would take someone on where they get a higher proportion of the table a team could finish on than someone just getting a small aspect. Could finish lower or above. Our impression of mid table is probably different too.

20. Fiery GR Smith

Bock bock bock begawkk!

No schedule is too tough for this team.

(And the Reds and Blues are still utter shite.)

The open to our season was actually pretty tough with all the touring and away games...which we won...convincingly...bar one close loss to the Lions, in the one game where all these injuries you bleat on about actually DID affect us)
