Sticky Wickets announce new major Sponsor 12/6/2009 By AJ Parker The Sticky Wickets have just announced that their new major sponsor from season 10 onwards will be TABcorp. In a shock development which will see new club Gamblers enter the competition with second rate Centrebet as their major sponsor blood has started to boil within the Cricsim community. Tabcorp chief executive Elmer Funke Kupper today said that once the Sticky Wickets came into the negotiations the choice was easily made, even though the gamblers would make the perfect fit Kupper said that they were just "Gamblers by name not by nature" and that in fact it was the Stickies who were the real big betters amongst the group with Sticky Wickets legend Zakaron laying down a large 1 million dollars on the Gamblers to take out the spoon in season 10. Although rated favorites to win the spoon Zakaron is still set to gain a big sum of 2.7m if they do in fact take out the spoon. We were unable to contact the Gamblers Club President but outside a TAB up on the Tweed head we did find a distraught Gamblers bound Benny Read, he had this to say when asked what he thought about the latest developments "TAB FTW!". It's believed Benny Read may be one of the many looking for a contract elsewhere now as some of the gloss has been taken away from the Gamblers.
