Warren Smith is fucking kidding himself if he thinks that's worth a send off. For starter's Allgood's shot that got Matai fired up in the first place was perfectly legal. His fist wasn't clenched. What's that supposed to be a penalty for, swinging arm to the rib cage? Please. You see a vulnerable target like an opponent's mid-section, you smash him. It's a cheap shot of course but it's still legal. These days more and more you notice people wanting a penalty simply because something looks rough.

So the only charge I think he has to answer for is the unprovoked punching. I don't like the axiomatic "throw a punch and you're off" policy and think Dave Smith is a reactionary clown but if this warrants anything 10 in the bin is the most IMO.

Well his body is injury prone and he isn't durable but whether he is tough depends on the actual nature of his many "injuries". He could be a pansy who goes down at every knock or he could be copping pretty painful injuries and continually battling through them, which is quite tough.

Well I actually get frustrated with the amount of times he goes down, but I don't know the amount of pain he's in so I give him the benefit of the doubt as I would other players.

My point re the neck injury , is that it is a very debilitating injury( As reported by the manly conditioner- Donny Sing) and takes an immense amount of toughness to train and play on with it.

Fair enough. I may have been a bit callous.

I haven't commented on a players injuries since the time I grabbed one of my players by the jersey and dragged him to his feet telling him " get up it didn't hurt- get up you pussy"- He had broken his collarbone and his scapula!- but he did get up and play the ball.

Reminds me of a teammate who hurt his leg in a game. The next day we had a game of golf booked but he rang me saying his leg was sore and might pull out of golf but I convinced him it was just a cork and a walk around 18 holes will do him good.

He struggled through golf but by the 18th he could hardly walk at all. We were both convinced then he better get it checked out.

This guy had played half a game of footy and played 18 holes of golf on a broken leg!!

Nah, he couldn't make it to the 19th. What a slacker!

Matt Robinson played half a game for Penrith last year with a broken neck. Always amazes me.

He would have been fine if he played with a cart and half a carton, as golf should be played.

Reminds me of a mate, who we were just playing some muck around with, but he was taking it really seriously, so next time he got the ball we smashed him.

Said his hand as a bit sore, so we wait a few minutes, played for anohter 30-45 mins then stopped and went off to do other things the rest of the day, and then we all went home. Next day he gets up and can't move his hand, and his mum freaks and takes him to the hospital. Turns out he'd broken his wrist.
