Well to be fair, new Queenslanders haven't really broken into the BS for ages. Everyone is tried and failed, and they keep losing, but they don't have many other options. I think Devonshire is a relatively new punt.
Yeah, that's more what I meant. Just had a quick look before at Perry's stats and they're pretty poor considering how many games he has played.
Nah not really. Devonshire is probably the most under-rated batsman on CricSim. Season 7 - 743 runs @ 41.28 Season 8 - 933 runs @ 40.57 Season 9 - 934 runs @ 38.92 Those figures are excellent. Volavola in that time has been playing ALC and not doing particularly well.
Yeah, they finally seemed intent on dropping Perry last season, but they've recalled him again because there are more provincial teams or something. He's such a dominant BS player that the punt is always worth it I guess, especially when the alternatives are players like %TR Man who are tried and failed as well but aren't as good in club cricket.
But Volavola's rep record >>>>>>> Devo's. If it was BS Devo batting above Midnight wouldn't be too bad, probably advisable, but in rep... I dunno.
Volavola hasn't played rep cricket since he was actually a good player though. In fact it was probably around Season 4. He's pretty lucky to be in the side at all.
When was the last time someone signed up that was a QLDer? The RLeague boys playing for the Punters are the only ones.
NSW only really ever wins cause they have a few players that pull out h4x performances from their assholes. If QLD had that, we'd win every game for sure, even though we had just a fraction of the member NSW has to choose from.
A few could. But we aren't in need of an opener in Quilty's case. We need a middle order bat, keeper and quick(Cambridge, MF)
