Send offs sadly tend to only be judged on how seriously injured the victim of the incident is. Had Idris of dislocated his shoulder or seriously hurt his neck then Cooper would have been in some strife. Referees always wait to see the condition of a player before making a ruling.

 

Yeah, that is all I can remember him doing! Other than scoring a try and just being pretty ****ing awesome. Although so was Poore.

 

My original comparison was over that vs Kimmorley. My example was Kimmorley was a tough call and unfair imo. Cooper shouldn't have been sent off but despite what you say, I feel the two are comparable. You felt that not a fair call and that is what I was replying to.

That said, I am sure you can agree that the Cooper incident would have been terribly different had Idris been seriously hurt. Imagine the game sitting, paused for five minutes while Idris has his neck strapped and is stretchered off, all that time, the referees being fed information by Steve Clarke. No, it didn't happen that way but it very nearly did which is why I made the point that those incidents are never penalised on the crime - only on the outcome of the injury.
