SRC Test Squad to Take on Scotland

Interesting, 3 blokes there competing for the #9 shirt. Struggle to see Pilgrim getting a lot of game time, unless Pilgrim/Ames is preferred to Cribb/Ames.
The two club halves pairings competing against one another.

No surprise in the #8 position.

Except Luffman can play 10, and has done all season for the Spartans except when Alessi has come on. It's basically Ames/Pilgrim vs. Luffman/Cribb vs. Ames/Luffman.

Hmmm. Thinking I might organise a quick pre-Test friendly against an SRC Select XV where all 30 players will get a run. I'll see what I can sort out.

    Centres

    1. Gareth Weaver
    2. Paddy Orr
    3. Steve Cambridge

A very tight contest in the centres with a plethora of good options available. In the end, the three selected were awarded for consistency as much as anything. Sam Graham should be particularly disappointed to miss out on selection. Andrew James can cover here and could possibly start.

I know, my point was that the only way Pilgrim will get game time is if Ames/Pilgrim is preferred to Ames/Cribb. As otherwise Luffers will be in the team, and if Luffers is at 10 then Cribb plays 9 and if Luffers is at 9 then Ames plays 10.
Pilgrim has no way into the team if Luffers is playing so it comes down to who plays 9 if Ames is at 10 and Luffers isn't available.

Don't think Graham did enough to oust out any of those 3 there.

  7. Kegdrinker LA Pilgrim

I don't see myself getting much game time. At least I got picked in the team.

  8. Kegdrinker LA Pilgrim

Pilgrim/Luffers. It's what we all want.

    Ah. Gotcha.

    Wingers

    1. Al Farnsworth
    2. Lucas Schaw
    3. Ben Herd

Despite a late surge by Matt Dorn (yeah, right), the three listed above are the three pure wingers to make the cut. Farnsworth has again been the most consistent option across the whole season whilst the mercurial Schaw is seen as the most likely to turn a game. Some may consider Herd lucky to make the cut, but the next best option Damien Taylor hadn't shown any more than Herd.

  10. Cribbage RG Cribb

Bender? Pfft. Will be lucky to make the NSW side next time they play.

Farny's been a bit of a boss this season.

I always miss out at rep level...even though I've played better at rep level...I think.

Too bad I suck at club level, haha.

    Full Back

    1. Bobby Blunder
    2. Jordan Logan

A good performance from Logan in the final secured him the last spot ahead of Ben Jacobs. Jacobs missed out on game time in the North/South tournament due to injury and then the form of Regan Hutchinson, and this cost him in the final analysis.

Ouch, Incey rorted by an injury at the worst time. Logan can cover wing if needed too

  16. Cribbage RG Cribb

He missed one of the games for NSW too.

  17. Fungus K Fung

    Not bad from Hurricanes.
