    Also there were voice cameos by Alec Guinness, Ewan McGregor and Frank Oz when Rey had those visions after touching Anakin's lightsaber.

    Did anyone else notice that they really emphasised the weight of Kylo's helmet/mask? He drops it onto a pedestal when talking to Rae, and drops it on the bridge when confronting Han, and both times it made huge impacts. It's an odd detail to emphasise

    He also dropped it on to what appears to be the same pedestal the Vader mask was on with Rey. Not sure what that was about.

    I picked up the beats to this in the same way I would notice being birched.

    Enjoyed the film as the new characters are great. Would have been better with its own story, though.

    Na I honestly think it was one of the best ways to introduce us to everyone. It was just enough nostalgia and originality to do extremely well with the cynical audience of 2015. I expect the beats will continue in the 2nd and 3rd part of this trilogy, however they will be nowhere near as strong as they were in the first film.

    And we also get 3 entirely original films in between as well.

    Good time to be a nerd.

    I think it was necessary after the prequels to put so much old Star Wars stuff in there. I think the franchise is now well set up that it can go its own way in the next two films.

    Finally seen it today, and have to get this out but what a fucking great film.

    Everything was set up well without really forcing it. Kylo is the guy in the mask but he is Ben the scared little boy without it. Like it has been said on here, it's anakin 2.0. He has the potential to be a truly great Villain.

    Finn is funny as hell, BB-8 is cool and glad he had some serious personality.

    Thought Rey was an interesting character and had a good hour after at the pub with my mate deciding who's kid she was. In the end it was Mace windu's white love child lol

    I want more Poe being bad ass.

    I think I nearly actually shed a tear when Han died and thought it was awesome when chewy went ape shit.

    My only issue was it tried to force funny scenes with BB-8 too much at times. But kinda expecting that from Disney.

    Need to go see it again, as so many questions to be answered but for now I want to re-live it

    Me and my mate hope for more force ghosts in obi, Yoda and anakin with helping Luke, Rey and potentially Ben. Be cool just to have all 6 tied in a nice bow

    Disney Infinity game fucked up. In the game Kylo says something along the lines of 'Fight me, cousin' to Rey. Rey is Luke's daughter confirmed.

    Saw it yesterday. I had trouble sleeping afterwards as I was so wired.

    My major issue with the prequels is that they sat around and said - lets make these prequels appeal to the same demographic who enjoyed the original trilogy. ie kids liked the original star wars so they tried to make the prequels appeal to the next generation of kids. They introduced Jar Jar Binks etc.

    In this movie they shifted the target market to old fans of Star Wars. You had to have watched the original movies to have enjoyed this movie. Lots of inside jokes.
    I found it genuinely emotional when I got to see Leia and Luke and to a lesser extent Hans again after many years of not seeing them.

    Just saw it. Will go through the replies after this post.

    I thought it was very good, just as good as the originals. Really interested to see who Rey's parents are. I thought they were Han and Leia but I thought they would have told her at some point or at least Leia once Han died.

    The lightsaber belonged to Luke. It would more likely go to Luke's daughter than to Leia's son.
