Shittest season

    lol when did I say it was a shit season, if you're going to quote me do so properly. No Rugby League season is shit, I still love my footy.

    But yeh I'd rather watch creative players excel than blokes wrestling on the ground for an extra couple of seconds longer in every tackle. It's pretty obvious I'm not the only one either, crowds are on the decline, TV ratings are on the decline and a coincidence that we're near 100 tries less than where we were at the same point last season?

    Obviously, just talking about how long it's allowed to go on in the tackle. Sandow's tackle last night is a good example of the new style, hold the player up then come in really late at their legs. Only a matter of time till someone suffers a serious injury and everyone finally starts to give a shit. Don't know how Hoffman? didn't last night tbh looked fucking bad.

    That link doesn't really prove anything, in fact it shows that during the regular season, the crowd number actually has been increasing for a number of years now. Obviously the finals have more people watching them at the ground, so the total average would go up, but we haven't reached the finals this year.

    That link isn't updated yet for some reason. Crowds are down by about 1% though.

    Small shit and could be linked to the weather but heading into a new tv deal and off the back of a massive membership drive you'd be expecting better numbers.

    Edit: Stats I'm quoting are from now compared to this time last year. My bad...

    Nah, I definitely agree with Magic.

    Wrestling is ugly and boring shit. Nothing worse than watching two blokes kill the ruck and have the dolt on the bottom jump up and down with his legs for 10 seconds.

    Quick play the ball and good ball movement is so much better than ugly wrestling shit.

    I don't think this season has been worse than any others. My only problem with the game these days is it's too fast paced, too many interchanges & too many tries are scored from kicks.

    Are you serious? The title of the thread was "shittest season" and you explicitly said in the first post that the season was the shittest in a while.

    Please don't act as if it was a relative comment. When you say there are no shit RL seasons you're just trying to save face.

    And yet you were also complaining about how much easier it is to score tries and how defences are happy to concede 3 or 4 tries a game.

    Consistency of sandpaper.

    The only tries off kicks that annoy me are the constant cross field kicks. Just don't really appeal to me as a viewer. The grubbers to the in goal I like though.

    Consistency means the degree of viscosity or firmness. Nothing to do with how good it is at removing material. It's consistently rough. I know you like using big words and trying to put together clever phrases but this one you just made up doesn't make sense...and has never been said before in the context you used it in on the internet...according to Google ;)

    Consistency means, as you said viscosity, or, the way in which a substance holds together.

    I concede it was an ordinary analogy.

    The last part is superfluous. If I made it up, why would it be on Google?

    You a fucking retard it's not a hard concept to get. I don't think a Rugby League season is ever shit, stop looking for an argument.

    Wtf are you on about... I'm saying 3-4 tries is a pretty convincing score in the current season. Teams being happy about only copping that shits me because it's really not reflective of a good defensive effort.

    If you cop more than 4 tries in a game at the moment it's usually a pretty abysmal effort.

    You just make it up as you go, dead set.
