Great time for me to make my monthly check-in to see if simmage has occurred. Agree with shelving both mentioned teams for now and hopefully generate a bit of interest.
Right, there's been no complaints (not that many would have seen the suggestion anyway) but for season 6, the Sharks and Immortals are officially on hiatus. All players currently contracted by either team can be signed by any of the other 4 remaining clubs - up to a contract maximum of (for now) 35 players.
That should mean that these players are now officially back on the market: Ben Storer Alan Izett Jonny Ridd Heath Davis James Torres Michael Chung Charlie Downes Marcuss Deane Fourie van der Westhuizen Matt James Matt Dorn Haydos Bots Bobby Blunder Lucas Schaw Jordan Logan Thad Bochat Joshua Ritchie Dave Eggman Nick Scott Teddy Tiger Callum Laing Keith Rask Dexter Astele Zorax Doom Alex Mediocre Paddy Orr Geoff Smith Ali Farhat Manju Reddlapalli Shane Masters Eddie Morris David Dafter James McDougal Sam Verigotta John McGrath Samuel Yates Sam Bakkum Gunner Shriram Zac MacDonald Bobrad Smith Darren Cave Michael Edwards Regan Hutchinson Ishan Narang Soumyanil Das Alan Parker Ryan Gee Zach Poole Chris Devonshire Jake Taylor Paul Adams Bob Borisc
Reserves will definitely run. With 35+ players for each squad, reserves will now have substitutions as well.
Based on the current squads, I'd suggest: Front Rowers: Hurricanes/Vikings Second Rowers: Hurricanes/Gamblers/Vikings Back Rowers: Relatively even, perhaps Gamblers Half Back: Hurricanes/Gamblers/Crabs First Five: All teams reasonably covered, perhaps the Crabs weakest point Wings: Every team seems to have one weaker, one stronger wing Centres: Gamblers Full Back: Vikings/Gamblers That's probably be your most sensible destination if you want some reasonable first XV game time.

Tempted to backtrack on my previous stance and just run with first grade matches with six clubs and some bastard chimera for second grade. Or biff second grade entirely.
So, if I were to do a new Season of Seasonal Rugby, how would people want it to be done? How many teams etc.? Thoughts?
