Seasonal Rugby: Reserve Grade

Line ups for the reserves of each team would now be appreciated.

Eligibility Rules

To be eligible for Reserves, you only have to have not started in first grade. However, as my discretion, I will rule out players selected for starting in firsts trying to rort the system (e.g. having a reserve start the game and be subbed off for a first-teamer after 10 minutes). This is a change from the previous rule that players were only eligible if they played less than 40 first grade minutes. The impact of this is that if a player comes on in the first half as an injury substitute, they will still be available for reserves.

Next Steps

Designated reserve selectors should create a 'Reserves line up thread' in their subforum and select their first line up. Nothing else other than line-ups should go in this thread or discussion between myself and the selector regarding available fillers.

If you don't get a move on with this, Round 5 will have ZERO reserves games.

If guys in reserves want to be playing, I recommend they hassle their club's leadership about getting their act together ASAP.

You have until Saturday morning NZT to get your line ups sorted else there will be no reserve games this game week.

2. Sharks are only allowed to use Golding & Arheiner in desperate circumstances
3. Only the club allocated can use the players as assigned to them
4. If any of these unsigned players are signed by a different club, they are removed from the available list.

You can sign any of the guys from that list, but to use them as Filler Players, they have to be one of the names specifically listed against your club above.

I've tried to make it so Fillers play for teams that they used to be contracted to, but guys who've never been contracted have been mainly allocated to the Crabs, Gamblers and Spartans.

 

Try contacting Bovver or Stormer and getting them to put pen to paper for the Gamblers, and some of those problems will be solved.

EDIT: Or getting someone like Wilson or Freddy to register for the sim as a Hooker, Lock or Full Back and then sign for you?

 

It's a bit different with Seasonal Rugby from Cricsim; given how oversubscribed the sim is in certain positions and under subscribed in others. If you convince someone to sign up, then by all means direct them to register with a certain mix of skills. If they want to sign up as something else though, that's their prerogative.

 

Somewhat annoyingly, I've got one team sheet from each fixture that is good enough for me to sim with. I was planning to sim some reserves games this arvo, but it's looking unlikely when the Sharks, Gamblers and Vikings still haven't got their line-ups sorted.

Spartans, Cwabs and Hurricanes are either done, or near enough.
