If you were to drop Hallett would you bring up Crowley which would then mean Delonge would take Popovic place in the side as his bowling isn't needed.
So we would need to change pitch conditions and play 4 front line bowlers. Ava wouldn't make our side, no point arguing about it really.
You can't say that Benny and Lukic are being picked as extra bowling options. One of them? Sure.. but you don't need six bowlers, so you can't use the argument for both of them. With Rolande at eight, Lukic is your fifth bowler and Benny is getting picked because he's flat-out the next best batsman available. His bowling is having zero effect on his selection and he'll probably bowl about 5 overs a game on average. AVA is a better batsman than both Popovic and Read so, while a fifth bowler is needed, you don't need two fifth bowlers so one of them would get the axe if you had Delonge. If you drop Hallett for a seamer then it's Popovic's bowling which becomes irrelevant. You can't use the argument for both of them at once though; it's flawed.
Our goal is to have solidified that by S10 as well, we need a very decent AR (like a Speirz or Cribb - won't happen though, so someone half that'll do) + One more paceman IMO, then we're set.
Unless you have a pitch suiting everyone, then you either have high spin or high pace, meaning you'd have 3 allout bowlers (Bullpit, Sullo and Taylor) and two allrounders out of Popovic, Read and Hallett based on pitch, and i'd slot in there.
Unless we idiotically drop a bowler for a batsman. You've got a valid point though. If i was gamblers CoS and we had Delonge, he'd be @ 5, Benny'd be @ 6, rolande + Lukic would be dropped & Crowley or some other paceman dropped. As it is though, I think the team is fine, shit would change if delonge came though hypothetically With Delonge 5. Delonge 6. BRead 7. Alex 8. Taylor 9. Crowley WIth extra batting the need for rolande is gone essentially meaning we can play an extra paceman over lukci without delonge 5. BRead 6. Popovic 7. Alex 8. Hallett 9. Taylor Would much prefer the first. BUtobv. delonge wouldn't come.
As Cribb has said if AVA was on the books you couldn't make a case for not playing him over Benny or Popovic unless they were better bats than him.
This is one of those times where even he knows it but he's going to carry on pretending he doesn't because he enjoys it.
Lukic would make it because he is our 3rd seamer, that is pretty obvious. I'd take Benny because of the spinning deck and the added advantage of the 3rd spinner and the fact that Delonge averages about 3 more than Read without the added bowling. And I hope Read bowls a lot more than 5 overs a game, especially at home. I've noticed that in the last 24 hours you are trying to find things to disagree with me about just to show that you aren't a cocksucker.
Yeah I'd figured. Probably trying to /collartug you know, that game in the gamblers board. As much as it shits me to be pretty a pretty dire gambler, logic is too powerful in this situation.
