Ben Jacobs hoofs that ball downfield from the halfway line. Perfect kick, bounces once just before the side line and goes into touch 20m from the Gamblers try line.

Taylor cleans up the ball and feints for a quick throw, but the Vikings runners are coming through quickly enough to put him off that idea.

O'Neill with the throw to the line out. Good throw, taken well by Jack Dempsey. He pushes the ball off to Morgan and a maul forms. Good rumble from the Gamblers here as the Vikings forwards manoeuvre for position. A good 10m gain here, and now the Gamblers look to spread this wide.

That's a massive pass out wide to rookie Winger, Funkotron. He's got space here, and he's running hard. Up to the halfway line now.

He's got no support though, and Ben Manera is across like a flash. Massive tackle and the ball slips out of Funkotron's hands. The ref plays advantage as the ball is spread out the Vikings backs.

Hunt shapes to kick, another good kick and we've got another line out.

...Poor throw from O'Neill, too deep. Cleaned up well at the back by Humble.

He's not interested in running at the line - no momentum, so he passes to Hornby. Hornby to Poole, Poole to King. A few metres gained there, but King is nailed by Ishan Narang.

Oh. The ref blows the whistle. That's a penalty. King didn't release the ball, but did Narang really give him the opportunity to?

Dangerous position for a penalty here. The Vikings think about going for the 3 points, but it's a very difficult kick from here, so they aim for touch.

Poor kick from Jacobs, but not much angle to work with.

Line out 15m from the Gamblers' line.

Good throw by Delonge. Doland Boland takes that with ease, and the Gamblers locks fail to close the gap. Boland busts through...

 

...5m from the line now. Boland to Marshall. He gains a couple but fires off a poor pass backwards. Cleaned up by Ishan Narang.

Narang is nailed by Welker. Read comes in, and that's a turnover. A big chance for the Vikings goes begging with that woeful pass from Marshall.

Taylor bashes that downfield, but doesn't make good yardage...
