Bookies are giving France a 32 point head start.

    Tempting

What start are Cook Islands getting?

18.5 on Sportsbet. Can't see them beating Tonga.

    Scotland ht/ft @1.90 for me

Pretty one sided game so just decided to bet on a few players to score a try.

At least it'll keep the game interesting for me when it's 40-0

Cook Islands are great value against Wales.

Also put some money on England to make the final.. I don't think they will, but at $4 odds on Sportingbet to basically beat NZ is pretty damn good.

Yeah I'll be on Cook Islands against wales.

Ryan Hall paying $1.75 to score at anytime

There's some decent odds for this game. ENG @ $3 is decent considering NZ record up there.

Just got an email from sportingbet saying I get a bonus $25 bet if I deposit $50 before the cup final.

    Nice little bonus.

Penrith paying $1.88 to get more than 10.5 wins on sportingbet, which seems very generous, they managed 11 this year. Thinking about chucking $100 on that instead of on $1.95 to make the 8. Seems a fair bit safer for $7 difference.

EDIT: at $1.80, changes it up a bit

Seriously thinking about putting 12.5k on Manly with a 19.5 start. Paying 1.04. Can't see them getting beaten by 4 tries at home.

Rule of thumb I never bet on the first 5 rounds, certainly not seriously anyway.

Yeah, I usually follow something similar. I lost a fair bit of dosh on the Cowboys early last year against Newcastle but I put that down more so to my other rule which is - never bet on the fucking Cowboys...........ever.

I probably won't risk that sort of money first game of the season but I'm 99% sure Manly will not be beaten that badly at home. Their record at Brookvale is overwhelming and their side is very classy. Always an immense task to best them at home.

Nah the first five rounds are great. Not because you can accurately predict the results, but the exact opposite - games are much more a coin-toss but the punters and bookies fail to see this so outsiders are always value.

Yeah, I can certainly see how the Raiders could be great value at nearly $4 with a line-up as strong as theirs and the proclivity of the Cowboys to lose whenever they're expected to win.

On the other hand I'm not gonna put $12000 on Canberra away from home. Maybe if Joel Thompson was playing :p

is that Joel Thompson quip some sort of in joke?

  19. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Well if it is you should certainly be in on it given that I've often mentioned, especially in Raiders discussions, how much I like him as a player. :p

So no, it's not an in-joke.

Titans are hot value with the Sharks looking to lineup with Holdsworth and Morris in the halves.
