P.S. wafc. Going to take exception. Every time I've considered 'taking it to the nth degree' I've checked and if it's been fine, you've told me it's fine. In this case, you said it was not taking it too far - so I selected accordingly. I've been given the opportunity to develop the younger blokes of the 'Rays into genuine BS players, and I intend to take every step I can within the rule change to ensure we get out of this slump and contend. It's the difference between finishing 1st one season and 3rd in the future. I just consider what I'm doing like a #7 in rugby. It'd be stupid for me not to 'stretch' the rules given what's at stake. Plus, I've declared months ago when I think each player will be ready - and every time I've been consistent with the '25-30' games in SC line. That's it. It's set the precedent because... that's actually what I believe.

I've made it clear that it is. The rules changed over the off-season to allow us to hold back worthy players to develop them and I'm doing that.

Lol @ your inference about my policy though. Cribb will confirm that last season and every time I've selected until this season, I was mocked for exposing youngsters too early - it was Eds who held back worthy youngsters for shunts like %V Noir. I'd play guys like Veez after 7 ALC games @29 in the BS, it's just how I did things. The new rule change has seen me go to the other end, yeah - but the sample for that is what? 5 BS games so far, it's hardly a famous policy too given this is the first time it's really had any effect or controversy.

But it won't. This is a one game balance thing. Next week Coldplay will be back in ALC and Zohaib in BS. The only reason Coldplay's playing is I dropped an underperforming spinner from the worst pitch in the comp for him. It's a balance thing. It's a ONE off.

  3. Number 11 CJ Downes

I thought your previous policy was not to pick proven FC shunts, e.g. Humble. Neither Coldplay or Force are proven shunts.

  4. Number 11 CJ Downes

It it's just one off and doesn't matter, than try to win it by playing the exceedingly better player?

  5. Coldplay SD Tuladhar

What if I get a good score? A good fifty or a ton? o_O

  6. Chewie JA Chewie

I should totally play tkp this week to piss Skippos off

  7. Skippos SM Morgan

But Coldplay receives no benefit from playing one extra game of ALC. Force receives a mega benefit.

Long term >>>>> Short term. If we were top 4-5, yeah - Force would play. Heck, he'd be a permanent fixture.

I like the new rule as it gives clubs the power to decide a direction and through that how they manage talent. We're rebuilding, allow us to do it in the best way possible :(

  8. Coldplay SD Tuladhar

Well, it could hamper the ALC team as well.

  9. Cribbage RG Cribb

It is a pretty unrealistic situation, but it's logical with the way CricSim works. Which makes it very Skippos in general, angers me, makes me want to kill myself etc but it's fine under the rules as long as he never tries to argue that another player isn't ready when they've played 26 games. I don't believe he's made this decision because he thinks Force is a better prospect than Coldplay and isn't fussed about ruining the latter, and that means it's okay.

The development system is having some teething problems, basically, and will be tweaked again in the offseason. Skippos is the litmus test for any changes like this because he's absolute fuckwit and he'll look for literal interpretations and loopholes instead of actually imagining the CricSim world, and that we've got a situation whereby someone with 2008 runs @ 40 is deemed more ready than someone with 1759 runs @ 84 is unrealistic and will be tweaked in the offseason. When each player has enough experience to play BS (should they be good enough) is a factor determined by a random variable at sign-up - each player has a slightly different experience progression - but obviously it should be relative to performance to an extent as well. There's no magic line of experience in real life, selectors balance it against performance, and the fact that fucking Shagger and a Burkey Cup batsman were being considered ahead of someone with almost 2000 runs @ 84 is a little much for me.

  10. Skippos SM Morgan

You couldn't justify it though as Niru > him on performance and Tkp gets more out of development. It's not even like a 'tkp has played more games' think so you could hold Niru back - on performance, Niru wins. on potential, Niru gains less from PCDIY. There's no case to play him.

  11. Skippos SM Morgan

Then you go back down to ALC. It's a one game thing. I'm open to you competing with DG Dafter for his spot but for now, I'd prefer Dougy. That might change later in the season though.

  12. Coldplay SD Tuladhar

Cool. That'd be good news for me.

  13. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah, see this is what I really don't like. Since the dawn of time CricSim has had rules in place to stop teams prioritising next season over this season. The new rules were put in place not to let decide seasons were write-offs but to make sure you weren't forced into debuting players in the BS when they weren't ready yet just because they were the best options. It's not there so you can squeeze more h4x out of rookies averaging 80-fucking-4. He's clearly more ready for a BS debut than Coldplay.

This selection is perfectly fine as per the rules this season. I've defended it in here from people accusing you of doing something really dire like prioritising batting 3 over the needs of the team or using Coldplay as a sacrificial lamb, but it's unrealistic and I don't think any other selector would've done it, so the rules are going to have to be changed in the offseason again.

    CP to destroy :)

  15. Skippos SM Morgan

Yep, and that's fair - and I'd play by those new rules.

I'm just working with what I've got.

  16. Number 11 CJ Downes

In before Coldplay double ton leaves egg on faces.

  17. Coldplay SD Tuladhar

    Sacrificial lamb. Wow.

  18. Coldplay SD Tuladhar

Haha, I'm hoping that too mate. :D

  19. Howe JHF Howe

    Would be awesome itbt

  20. MrPrez CM Dyer
