    Force - SC season average 70, with 3 hundreds, averaging 95 in his last 5 games

    Tuladhar - SC season average 31, with 0 hundreds, averaging 27 in his last 5 games

    Force also has 18 wickets at 26 this year, and the extra batsman was brought in for a spinner.

    I suppose this is a case of Skippos batting where he likes and then picking the rest of the team to suit that. WAMcCullum.

    It's a case of Coldplay having more experience than Force more than anything I think. If they were just picking a side to win this match then Force would be in it, I'm sure.

    It's not, and I would've told him to gagf if he tried that, just as I did to Chewie. Coldplay has played 27 games to Force's 17 though, so he's been deemed more ready to step up.

    Yeah, part of me thinks your whole force charade is as I'm selecting and you just think I'm a twat but that's irrelevant.

    Cribb will confirm originally I was thinking of playing Shagger or Blocka in Tuladhar's spot. Force was never going to play. In fact, I'd gone with Blocka and I was opening. Then I quickly checked the stats site and it turned out Tuladhar had had 10 games more in SC than Force or any other of the rays developing crew. I've marked out about 25 games as when I think a player's developed enough in ALC, so until then I'd like, as much as I can, to adhere to that.

    Keeping players down for development is a legitimate reason to play them in ALC - and I think in doing so, I'm not only increasing the long term prospects of the 'Rays provided these lads stick around, but the long term prospects of guys like Force. They will be better for it.

    Yeah - if we were top 3-4/looked like we were going to be, Force would be playing. But we're not going to win it or come close this season, so the focus is on development. Force hasn't finished his.

    Tuladhar's played more than enough games to be near a finished product development wise. The reason he's playing in this is not because he's better, or because he's an opener - but because I'm allowing Force to be a better player.

    Three of Force's matches don't actually count at all though. As it turns out one of Coldplay's doesn't count either so we're left 26-16. I think there's a clear enough difference there, although the 26 mark does set a precedent for his own future selections.

    As usual though Skippos's selection policy is going to force me into rule changes in the offseason. Takes everything to the nth degree.

    Does anyone actually believe that's the reason? Especially with Skippos' famous policy of leaving the best young players in ALC. If he wanted to win the match in a one-off he would have played Force.

    Nah. At one stage I asked Cribb if it was okay to play Shiv in BS and not Force as Shiv's not looking like ever being 'relevant' so the need to develop is lesser but was told to GAGF. 10 games is over half a season. I believe Tuladhar is near or passed the development 'barrier', while Force I think still remains 8-12 games away from passing it. Those 8-12 games of averaging 10-15 more in ALC will, hopefully, turn him from being a potential 45 averager in BS to a 50 averager - it's a big step, so I'm managing it carefully.

    I already said that though. That's fine (this season). He's not prioritising Force's development over Coldplay's because Force is better though; Coldplay has just played more games.

    Well, FMPOV all he's doing is wrecking Coldplay's career, because he'll average <25 in BS and struggle to ever come back from that. Severley hampers one players long term career, so that by his own admission, Force can average 5 more runs at FC level.
