Reserves Round 1: Landsharks vs. Conquerors (vBookie)

Tom Clough coming on for MJA Johns at half time, otherwise the teams revert to their starting line ups.

 

40-50 Minutes: Much of this spell was spent in forwards battles around the centre of the park. The Landsharks finally managed to retain possession for a number of phases. A couple of good runs from Nova and Speirs, but otherwise little to report.

 

Clough managed to run 5m with the ball and got penalised at the ruck.

Already more activity in 10 minutes than Johns managed in 40.

 

56:30: A line break from Jonathan Jones is unceremoniously ended by a brutal tackle from Nick Scott. However, no one is there to support Scott. Read secures the ball for the Landsharks. The Conquerors defensive is in disarray. Hughes takes the ball of the back of the ruck and draws the disorganised defensive line to him. The ref has his arm out for a penalty, but he's playing advantage.

 

...Speirs tackles Hughes, but he's made a great offload in the tackle there. Away to Nova. Nova puts in the fend on Borisc and manages to keep the lad away from him. He's in space now. Darts is tracking across to tackle him but with Rogers close behind Nova, he sells Darts the dummy and dots down under the posts.

Holbitt shanks the kick completely. That's a Stephen Donald if ever I've seen one.
