Well play against some FC players here, been away to selection tournaments for Central Districts where I have got 50's in. Just wanna go over there for the experience, not really worried about the level of cricket.
I have only ever played in 3 non senior game where we have been able to score 100. Most tend to be retire at 50.
TBF, i was only a shot for a trial, not playing. That said, i've played for hamilton a handful of times, that's "TC" (Third Class) I suppose you'd call it. Fat chance now, can't bowl for a year
That's my motto. I think had I put time into technique when I was younger I could have been fair decent, I have a good eye, can hit the ball well and play some nice shots off the back foot. However going forward I bottom hand too much, play across the line and end up squaring up. Aw well, bowling was always my forte.
That is how I used to bat, unless I open strangely then all of a sudden I learn how to bat proper. Dont tend to give it the hoick so much now.
Hockey has helped me quite a lot with my hitting out. Trying these hockey shots in my innings get some interesting shots out of it that are quite effective.
We had a guy who used to bat 11 for us who played hockey. Because of how he batted we never sent him out unless required but when he it, it stayed hit cause he just played hockey shots.
When I was real young. My technique was pretty good, I got taught my cousin who is 5 or 6 years older, and he bowled pretty quick considering I was 9. However I stopped playing for a bit and everything went downhill from there.
Yeh I never saw you in those days You had the eye but never the technique ITBT. Once you sorted your action out your bowling was decent though. No fireworks?
