Devo I didn't make the OD team. Especially considering i've been better than Manera average-wise and SR wise this season and he made the team >_>
8th best OD batsman according to rankings... in all of Cricsim. Bold decision to leave you out TBH. Probably not at the expense of Manero though.
I only said Manero because he's the only one I checked to see if I was better than during this season CBF checking the others. Maybe he was picked specifically to open though. I was good opening for the Saders in Season 7 but Ged isn't a big fan of last season apparently. Oh well. Bring home the Silverware QLD.
I think Ged wanted to go with a more defensive player to open to try and hold partnerships ect and protect wickets.
There was a dicussion earlier on whether he would pick me or Vago as we were very similar in terms of SR but I edged out due to a better average and I guess having a solid performance in the final. I would suspect that you were fighting for a spot between Kegdrinker and Toolman. Unfortunately they both had brilliant seasons.
I thought I deleted that part. I was going to finish the sentence as... Kegdrinker was lucky in that his average was inflated from so many not outs.
I am not disputing that, just that his average of 97 should not be the determining factor to pick him. Obviously he scored more runs than Ryan so he was deserving of his spot.
Yeah, I wanted a more solid option at the top of the order and I wanted an actual opener. Particularly due to opening with Webber, I wanted a steadying influence. Also, Manera's record for qld is good. Pilgrim only just edged out Gee also. I was actually most surprised by picking myself. I really didn't think that I'd done as well as I had.
I agree with everything except the bolded. There hasn't been any OD games involving origin teams before.
Good first up win. I think that where we could have the edge in this comp is our specialists. NSW seem to have a ****load of allrounders, and some are wasted. I think that our balance is spot on. While we've only got the three allrounders, they all do their jobs. In the batting we have probably the most reliable batsman in Manera along with Tool Man and Jemmell who can really explode when needed. Then there's Pilgrim who has shown many a time for the Saders that he can get the team out of trouble if needed. I think that our balance is really spot on.
I was very poor in that game, hoping I can pick it up should I retain my place over lesser members like RyanG etc.
