depends how confident you are in playing shots and the field setting. if it's a yorker outside off stump you're not really gunna be able to get onto it well and if its a packed offside field i'll often let that one go, same with a high bouncer if theres leg side fielders in the ring and i don't think the batsman has enough confidence to give me a good shot at hooking it for 6
bloody hell, i try to pull in into the open gaps, i just miss the green and straight to square leg, even when i green it, at times it goes to the fielder
Remember I hooked 2 successive bouncers for 2 sixers when there was a fielder in the boundary in the end overs in a 50 overs match. The batsman's form was over 4.00 at that time though..
Don't try lofting, if you just play ground shots (the green and yellow ones) you'll very rarely get caught, other than caught behind if you edge it.
Can't get past round 6 >_> Wickets just seem to fall in quick succession after a good start. That September guy always fucks me over. EDIT: 50 overs btw. Never played 20 yet.
256 in round 6. Round 1 was something like 165. Was pretty easy. Took my sweet time though. Nkuna starts with 5.8 though. What the fuck. But once you fend off a couple of deliveries he goes down to 5 and then it's pretty hard to get him down to 3.
Always between 165 and 265 in the first 7 rounds. The bowling attack becomes better after every 3 matches. So, in the first match you're chasing ~165 against an easy attack, 2nd match ~195 against the same, 3rd match ~230 against the same, 4th match ~180 against a better attack, and so on... Ya I defended Nkuna's 10 overs (and took singles if the fielding gaps are obvious). He always finished his 10 with 25-0 or something like that. I went absolutely destructive against the other opening bowler though. I didn't mind if he took 2-3 wickets.
Play T20. Rules in T20: 1. Always target the region that's most suited to the kind of delivery. Now, after finalising the region based on that: 2. Try a single if there's a fielder in boundary and no fielder in the ring. 3. Try a boundary if there's no fielder in boundary and no fielder in the ring. 4. Try a six if there's no fielder in boundary and a fielder in the ring. 5. Play defense/leave if there's a fielder in boundary and a fielder in the ring.
Same issue, but I found that what ritwick said below helps, especially about playing the ball it its arch and not trying to play cross line.
