lol @ Gallen < Watmough according to their selections.

    Who's Ryan Hall?

  2. Hunter AD Hunt

    Whino's winger.

  3. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Fuck no.

Surprised Inglis being selected didn't raise any eyebrows tbh. Out of all the centres in the 4N Reed was probably the best performer of the series, throughout the NRL season too.

I thought Lockyer had a superior year. He certainly had a superior year in international RL. Marshall did nothing. Some of us place a much higher importance on rep games when picking........ah.........rep sides.

FTR I agree Marshall had a better club year.

Why argue it? Inglis makes the side every year and half the time doesn't deserve to. You just know he's going to be there.

  7. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Pretty sure most fair-minded NSWmen would say Scott deserved to be there given his overall performances in club, state and test RL this year. Bedsey, just as one example.

Yeah I get that, but why advoate Graham at halfback and not Robson or Townsend then?

  9. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Robson is not FG standard. Graham has to be there and NOT in the backrow as his ability at stand-off is too valuable.

I'd have traditional style halves (not split) with the two alternating from first and second receiver.

  10. BigGuns DA Astele

That is harsh, decent first grade HB imo

He just doesn't offer anything. There's no spark in anything he does. I've never, ever seen him play a leading or starring role. And I've never seen him take control of a game. He's just.....meh......Surely they can find a decent defender who knows when to give Hayne the ball cause that's really all Robson does at Parra.

MOTM 2009 preliminary-final against the Bulldogs is one i remember. Sure there have other games.

  13. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

I've seen him do it once. Round 11 this year v Sharks believe it or not. He looked like Joey Johns out there.

Mm. Not really building a case for him being FG standard though.....It was against a sub-FG standard Sharks side.

I never said that rep games were on level with club games, stop being so pretentious.

Lockyer's international performances apart from the friendly were non existent, Marshall was much the same and they pretty much cancel each other out afaic. Lockyer was just lucky to be playing in a successful team, I certainly wouldn't go as far to pick on over the other just on International performances given that both were quite frankly shit.

To suggest Marshall is far from outlandish let alone biased.

Robson is all process and zero instinct. He is only ever satisfactory in a side with a dominant extra creative partner. He can tackle well, kick well enough in play and is borderline poor at play with his forwards. He can fill a gap and thats it afaic.

Robson is a very good organiser but that's literally all he's got. He's taken being a primarily organising player to the next level - he not only has virtually no creativity but he's Burns-esque in his execution at times too; his core skills just don't seem as good as they should be, especially for someone who doesn't have a lot to offer in he opposition 20. I've always really liked him and he has the match situational awareness and control to structure a side which is more than some "halfbacks" around these days, but he should be a good squad player at best IMO.

That was pretentious was it? FMD. :scared: I didn't say or imply you did. Merely that I don't think we place the same amount of importance on them.

Well, I disagree. I thought Lockyer had a much better FN than Marshall. And although it may seem unfair to include Origin matches, I think they should be.

I didn't say it was outlandish. And whilst Marshall is a reasonable suggestion I think I know why BigGuns and Lukic were the ones saying Marshall should've been there. I could be wrong but that's just the inkling I have.

This, but I don't think he's even a very good organiser. Some of the options he takes, particularly in opposition territory just display a total lack of awareness of the context.
