    If Leilua to Canberra starts next year, not mid season, then I don't know if I'm a big fan of the signing. A lot of water to collect under the bridge yet.

    Anyone else think Johnston's stint at fullback probably cost him several hundred grand over the next few years?

    I know Canberra were considering throwing him a big contract but I reckon Stuart and co decided they already have better fullback options. Wouldn't be surprised if the Roosters did something similar.

    I know from the outset our recruitment manager never rated him that highly as a fullback and was told we wouldn't pursue him. Robbo might of held a different view but I doubt it, he seems pretty content with replacing RTS internally.

    I think a lot of it was just paper talk. Regardless paying Johnston anything over a couple hundred thousand at this point in time would be a stupid move so pretty happy to see he's no longer an option.
