    In my experience, you learn more from analysing the game, than you do from playing it; If you're talking about in-depth analysis for the game - Which logically follows, for obvious reasons.

    Of course, there are certain things you can only learn from doing one or the other, which gives rise to the notion of players automatically knowing more or having a stronger basis for their opinions - Which is complete bullshit.

    Just statistical and video evidence, as well as historical citations and reasoning for my opinions. (You know very well I can provide links to a plethora of any of these).

    Going off your "End of season" thread, you wouldn't know analysis if it bit you in the arse.

    I doubt too many people on here give a shit about statistical evidence as you can't use stats to analyse a game, you need to see it with your own eyes. Video evidence has a little more credibility but anyone can go on YouTube and find the video you are after.

    "Hughesy's End of Season Reviews" mean shit all. I had no motivation for it and was wondering why on earth I was doing it. Just wanted to conclude on my predictions earlier on in the season. Just because I don't go through the statistical motion like yourself doesn't mean I can't make a fair assessment on a game. You may not agree on it but thats sport, no one agrees with anyone when it comes to sport.

    That's one of the most ridiculous things i have ever read. Since when are statistics and visual analysis, mutually exclusive? You use them in tandem. What you're really saying here is that stats are completely meaningless - That is nonsense.

    Wtf? Virtually every piece of video evidence I've produced on Rleague or Cricsim, was edited and compiled by myself. Apart from that, it takes patient watching and re-watching to find the evidence. And sure most people probably could do it if they had the time, resources and patience - But most people evidently, do not. Hence why 90+% people wanted Hayne on the wing for NSW and Australia last year. Hence why most people wanted Gasnier or Lyon to defence Inglis. Hence why most still want Inglis defending in the centres. Hence why so many wanted Folau moved in-field. Hence why most people blamed Ennis for the loss in Game 3 instead of Snowden and Gallen. And we can go on and on.

    I reckon MF's good, it's nice to see someone be able to properly back up what they say.


    I still say Perrett is prone to shit errors, but that may be because I only see around 30-40% of his games, if that's say, 10 games, and he has 3 shockers from those ten, it's really going to stick in my brain and whenever I see him produce an error I think 'geez, classic Perrett'

    Whereas someone that's seen him put in another 10 flawless performances will hold him in a higher regard and if they see him make a mistake think 'that's out of character for Perrett' and dismiss it, which as the stats show, is the better analysis of his game.
