I quite like the planar stuff but it only really works if you have at least 4 players and everyone's accepted that you're just pissing about. Adds a ton of luck to the game. The decks you can buy are pretty good whether you're playing planeswalk or not, so I usually don't bother.
Such a great idea to add two boosters. When I got back into the game during Shards, I bought one of those. Great way to get new players into building their own decks.
What sort of deck type should I get? I'm thinking Blue and the Missus wants to get a Green one. Thoughts?
Depends on your style of play. Red - fast damage, lots of cheap spells and creatures to hit the hard and fast. Green - Build up play, lots of mana creation that leads to big creatures, takes a bit to get going but once you do, look out. Black - lots of death and destruction, spells to kill creatures, take life etc White - lots of life gaining, and boring shit like that. But Angels are gun. Blue - lots of being a cunt.
Yah Blue is deffo the cuntiest deck out. Also probably the most epic troll deck too as it has such a high content of counters, dispells and shit. Oh, most of them are instant too... My brother played Blue, I think I only ever beat him once or twice. He had a gun deck though. So many cheap counters and creatures.
Most of the counters were instants? NO WAI? Please tell me more about the usefulness of sorcery counter spells?
Red/White i should've said plus it was a deck i last used for a tabletop game. Now i just play online.
True. This was the card that won me countless games against my mates at school: Not uber strong but still awesome. Combine that with Overrun, you got a 7/8 magnet (with threshold) that will get rid of most of the field. Had a Giant Growth ready if I needed it, then my Elves move in for the kill. Yea not as fun. White is still my primary colour, followed by blue and green. Allied colors iirc.
Problem with green decks is they always get caned by flying creatures before you can build up properly. Needs combining with black or red to work competitively.
