I didn't think that Nate got dominated in either of his performances. Nonetheless, I'm pretty comfortable in our top 5 front rowers. As long as three are there come game 1, I'll be pretty happy.

    Don't forget Ross.

Well, if he's fit and back to his best, he'll be in consideration. I don't think that even you can deny it. Obv. it's a massive if though.
I'd be comfortable in saying that we had the better props if we could put four of the following on the paddock in some semblance of form:
Petero, Scott, Shillo, Hannant, Ross, Costigan, Myles

If any of these bolded start as prop for QLD I will lose my shit.

Serious? I've never seen that guy put on his arse until the England game. Wouldn't surprised me if he did bulk up a bit more next season and play front row for the Roosters but currently I don't think he's up to it.

So me saying something about Lockyer is because of Thurston? Not only are you hypocritical for doing the exact same thing, but it's pretty clear this is actually true.

Yes, actually. Well, that and the pseudo-ethnological garbage.

Everyone naming all the backrowers as front rowers. Someone needs to play backrow for Qld. You can't just have Harrison and Thaiday play 3 positions.

We were simply comparing depth to the names you posted, which btw, should've included Weyman, Poore and Ryles.

Least Tate got Player's Player. That's something I guess. Interesting to hear the reaction of those who claimed Gallen getting said award in the 2009 Four Nations final was proof that he played well and was best on-ground. The silence will be deafening.

Gallen got players player in the first game.

I'm naming Myles as I see him playing the bench role next year as the 4th prop/ 5th backrower. As for the backrow, Thaiday, Harrison and Johnson will do me fine with Taylor/ Costigan on the bench alongside Nate.

    First game of what?

Costigan is more of a prop than Myles IMO. Especially these days. If the bench is Scott, Myles, Costigan and Cronk or something, Myles should play exclusively back row.

Don't try and tell him about him being players player if he gave away penalties or had some errors, he knows better than the players.

It's a point I brought up ages ago about how a player can lift the rest of his side by being out there and putting on a big hit/taking extra workload etc.

Obviously the players see that his effort and workload far outweighs the 1-2 penalties he comes up with.

I agree, stuff like that is underrated on here. The players are not robots, inspiration comes a long way.

I see, so the Player's Player award is always right is it?

Player's often cannot analyse a game as well as someone who's not playing it - For obvious reasons. They're busy playing a game and doing their own job. This is evident by their statements.

And when Gallen missed a ruck tackle and then gave away a penalty to follow it up, and NZ kicked a penalty goal instead of scoring a try - Yeah I'm sure the rest of the Australian players thought, well we got out of that pretty easily...didn't cost us much. But hey, seeing how Gallen didn't get Player's Player, perhaps they did care.

The players picked who they felt was the one who contributed and added the most. Of course you'd know that better than anyone on the field.

I do love having this argument. Ya know. It's just so flawed and reactionary. Okay so what happens when 55% of players pick say, Tate. And the other 45% pick Gallen for said award? If I picked Tate as well, does that mean I know more than the other 45%?

Or what if 80% pick one bloke and 20% pick somebody else? Does that prove the bloke who had near-unanimity must've been the best player that day?

What happens when the players disagree with each other? Weren't they paying attention? It's the same argument as the all too familiar - Well he played for Australia 30 years ago, or, he is an NRL coach, therefore he must know more than you. It's white noise.

Nah you're right, Tuqiri has been the best player because he's scored the most trys and therefore added the most points to the team.
