Joe Galuvao only played 4 first grade games for Souffs in 2007, during which time Souths staff tried to convince him to retire and become a minister. Has since gone on to play another 112 first grade games, playing in two grand finals, one a loss with Parramatta, one a win with Manly.

Meanwhile Souffs decided it would be in their best interests to hold on to David Kidwell and have played 0 grand final matches for a total of 0 grand final wins.

  2. Jazz NC Smith

He wasn't just making up the number either over the last few years. He was very good for Parramatta in 2009.

  3. Benny BS Read

Galuvao was so terrible in all his games for Souths that the decision at the time looked intelligent to me

    What Benny said.

Perhaps the change in environment helped him.

  5. Magic AJ Parker

Getting out of Redfern would do wonders for anyone.

  6. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    It really was dominant.

  7. Toolman TR Man

What was Steve Price's average over that time period when his stats were unbelievable almost every match?

  8. Old Mate M Perry

Hodges and Lockyer in '06 was beautiful.

  9. Reagan Wheelson RDP Wheelson

    Dat image

  10. Jazz NC Smith

In 2007 he averaged something like 195m a game and ~25 tackles. I think he was the first player to ever break the 4000m mark too and he managed 300+ metres twice during the season.

In that period from 2006-2009 he was arguably the best player in the world.

Fensom's put up some monster numbers, more than a tackle a minute stuff

Nah training staff just tried to get him too fit. They tried to slim him down and turn him into an 80 minute man towards the end of his time and Penrith and continued that train of thought at Souffs.

Was only once he got to Parra that he spent a bit of time on the pies at Wenty and started dominating again, watched him score a hattrick in half a game running off Robson twice, and a rampaging 40m solo effort.

I remember writing a top 25 players in the NRL in, I think, 2008. Everyone thought I'd have Smith or Thurston at no.1. Top 5 was: 5.Inglis, 4.Civoniceva, 3.Thurston, 2.Smith, 1.Price. He was un-fucking-believable at the point.

  14. SM MD Dorn

Aiden Sezer had a goal kicking streak of 27 consecutive or something this season

  15. Magic AJ Parker

    Maloney is on 28* atm

Kevin Sinfield sent 21/21 in the 2012 finals and continued his streak to 41 in Leeds games.

The record is held by Liam Finn of the Featherstone Rovers who manged a streak of 46.

I'm pretty sure Kade Snowden is averaging more than 10m per run since round 2 (He was pretty dire in round 1).

  18. SM MD Dorn

Luke Douglas's streak is pretty impressive

George Burgess was truly immense in the gf, especially given the size of the dogs. 27 tackles, 1 miss, 1 try, 5 tackle breaks, 1 line break 18 hit ups for 199m.
